Adonai Mitchell was born on October 8, 2002, in Missouri City to mother Darcy Padgett and father Norman Mitchell. While Darcy is from Bridgeport, Connecticut, Norman is from Houston. Norman is a jack of all trades who has worked as a producer, director, writer, actor, and comedian. He is mostly remembered for his work as a comedian in Uptown Comedy Club, HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, and Keenan & Kel.

The couple has dedicated their lives to a common goal – The Bee Busy Foundation, an NPO that aims to help the underprivileged and discriminated people with testing, substance abuse intervention, and adolescent health education. Darcy serves as the CEO of Bee Busy Hive while Norman serves as the CEO of the foundation. The organization works on charity the foundation receives for which they approach people through various activities like street drama and counseling sessions. By 2023, the foundation had received over $20.7 million since it started in 2000.

A compassionate Norman was homeless in Central Park for nearly a year when he was hit by an umbrella after he tried to grab onto some warm bread thrown for birds. “There was food put on the ground. But this was not for you,” Mitchell recalled. “You have to make your own way.” Adonai Mitchell is walking on the same path, making his own way. And like his father, AD is also making his way in the NFL Draft this season.

Five teams who may be interested in drafting Adonai Mitchell

Earlier this year, Adonai Mitchell wrote a heartfelt message for his daughter, Icylinn McLaurine, while declaring himself available for the NFL draft. Billed at 6’2 feet and 205 lbs, Mitchell impressed everyone at the NFL Combine with his quickness and catching ability, finishing his 40-yard dash in 4.34 seconds. With an athleticism score of 91, he is ranked 7th among all WRs. Given his ability and skillset, five teams are interested in drafting him.

Despite the presence of Curtis Samuel and Khalil Shakir, Adonai Mitchell could pair up with Josh Allen at the Buffaloes to instill fear into opposing teams. The Chiefs are another team that could draft Mitchell, considering Rashee Rice’s legal troubles, Marquis Brown’s one-season contract, and Travis Kelce’s impending retirement. The Baltimore Ravens, New England Patriots, and Carolina Panthers are other teams who may pursue Mitchell.
