He captioned, “ICYMI: Oregon HC Dan Lanning from his postgame press conference.” Following Oregon’s victory over Utah, Dan Lanning took the postgame press conference as a platform to raise a national issue. He raises the question, “Where’s the respect for human lives? 

On Wednesday, a national tragedy happened as a mass shooting broke out in Lewiston, Maine, killing 18 people in the incident. According to reports by The Associated Press and USA Today, the Maine incident is the 36th mass shooting incident in the nation this year.

Dan Lanning took a couple of minutes to express his grief over inhumanity and urged people to unite and do something about it. He said, “I’m not trying to be political, but I do care about human life and I do care about human decency, and I hope at some point we can take a stand and do something about it.

The 37-year-old Oregon head coach unveils that his players are also concerned about gun violence. He challenges the public on what they’re willing to do about it to fix the situation. As a father of three kids, Dan Lanning expressed his fear and desire saying, “It certainly means something to me when I send my three kids to school and expect to see them come home.

Lanning’s attempt to use the platform he’s got to spread awareness for this sensitive issue is praiseworthy, especially since these issues have been plaguing the US as a whole for a long time. His speech was received with immense appreciation on all sides, with people acknowledging him to be a person people want to play for – highlighting him as a reason for the Ducks’ success.

Bo Nix and the Ducks dominated the Utes on Sunday at Rice-Eccles Stadium in what is one of the most glorious moments for Dan Lanning and Oregon. QB Bo Nix was the star player of the game completing 248 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Ducks with a 21-3 lead in the second quarter.

Lanning expressed his pride for the team in his postgame conference speech as his team delivered the talk. While the Utes played without their star QB Cameron Rising, the Ducks’ performance is nothing short of impressive. He said of the star player of the game, “I’m going to say it again, Bo Nix is the best quarterback in the nation just to be really clear.

Many players have joined Dan Lanning in calling out the shooting incident in Maine. And we hope that everything will work out for the better. As for Oregon, they’ll be facing the 3-5 California Golden Bears in their upcoming game in Week 9.
