The new NIL policy is making the life of college athletes much easier, but it comes with its own set of drawbacks. The recent contract of Jaxson Dart has proved that all that glitters is not gold, as Joe Pompliano shows the ugly truth behind the curtain of the NIL.

Jaxson Dart, the newest quarterback for the Ole Miss Rebels, has become one of the first college athletes to sign such an enormous deal, thanks to the NIL policy. He will be granted free hours for all Nicholas Air private jets for travel, training, and philanthropy. The deal, which is one of its kind in the world of college sports, comes with its consequences, as told by Joe Pompliano.

Pompliano’s words of advice just might save Jaxon Dart over $200,00 if he chooses to pay heed. In a recent report, it is said that Jaxon Dart’s newest deal with the Nicholas Air airline will come with its set of repercussions. Famous entrepreneur Joe Pompliano evaluated the quarterback for the Ole Miss Rebels and his new NIL deal, and it should very well be a reality check for the youngster.

In his recent tweet, Pompliano wrote, “NIL is great….but one of my concerns is college kids being shocked when the tax bill hits. For example, the details of this deal aren’t known, but 15-20 private jet hours might be valued at ~$200,000. Having to pay taxes on that (after getting it for free) is a wake-up call.” This statement is in response to Dart being provided hours to the airline’s jets for free in his newest deal. With all that said, here’s a look at what P.J. Fleck had to say about the negative impact of NIL deals in college football.

Golden Gophers’ P.J. Fleck criticizes NIL deals in a controversial statement

To fans around the world, it all seems exhilarating to see their favorite athletes ride around in their expensive cars and luxury suits, but very few actually realize the harsh reality of it all. With these thoughts in mind, the head coach for the Golden Gophers, Fleck talked about the negative impact of NIL deals on the magic of football as a sport. While he supports the intentions of the policy, he doesn’t necessarily agree with how it’s being implemented.

Fleck said, “NIL, the reason why it was brought in, I 100 percent agree with. I think the players should benefit from NIL. How it’s used in recruiting is a different storm. The [transfer] portal has been a different storm — how players are leaving teams and how players are being recruited off teams.” He points out how money continues to tarnish the purity of football as it preys on the financial voids of college athletes and also how they pick their potential teams.
