Shedeur Sanders has been at the forefront of an entire storm wrapped around his reputation and leadership skills. Though he was touted to be a top-3 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft earlier this year, recent reports have ranked him below the likes of Georgia’s Carson Beck, much against the predictions of Deion Sanders. He was also touted to be a lower contender than Travis Hunter for the Heisman, and as such, he’s been dealing with a lot.

But the worst of it all was during the exit of Xavier Smith, when Shedeur faced the worst trolling of his career. Smith, the former Buffalo player, revealed how Deion told him to enter the transfer portal and accused him of destroying guys’ confidence. In reply, Shedeur immediately ran to defend his father, and his post, “Ion even remember him tbh. Bro had to be very mid at best,” sealed his fate. From then onwards, he was termed as a terrible leader, but it looks like Shedeur has curbed his ways as he tries to be a fine mentor to his teammates.

In a recently released video from a fan, the Colorado Buffaloes were seen to be training and Shedeur observing the plays from afar during one of his breaks. But when Ryan Staub made an error on the field, Shedeur was quick to call him out. The QB was seen scolding Ryan in the video and said, “Ay Ryan, what are you doing? What play is that? So why you stop? Talk to him bro, he did it wrong. Talk to him.

The tweet itself was captioned with the words, “If anybody want to question @ShedeurSanders leadership just show them this clip. Never afraid to hold his teammates accountable. Making sure everyone on the same page. Qb1.” Shedeur has had his time on the stand and is now turning over a new leaf, where his hair has been cut short, and his arrogance seems to be subdued as well. Moreover, the cutting of his hair seems to be a sign at a no-more-messing-about attitude, which the Buffaloes desperately need from him.

The 2023 Shedeur Sanders was donning long, twisted braids, which was symbolic of the same guy who used to flex his watch at the haters, making him nothing short of a villain in the NCAA. And now, he seems to be burying all that in the past and aiming to lock in for this season.

During the Colorado Memorial Day Cookout, Shedeur debuted his new hair, which took all the fans by surprise. The Colorado star was even heard saying, “C’mon man, it’s a business year. I handle business, stand on business… everything business, bruh.” Thus, football seems to be the primary focus for Sheduer now, and doesn’t want any distractions or fashion shows to come in the way. Maybe this new version of Shedeur can be the answer to Colorado’s trophyless run from last season.
