Training sessions with Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes program are far from the usual serious affairs. With its upcoming Black and Gold Day and recent player transfers, this unique program knows how to inject fun into the game.

Stepping up to shift the program’s mood into something light is Colorado wide receiver Jimmy Horn Jr. His imitation of Warren Sapp, the Colorado Buffaloes’ graduate assistant, was captured by Deion Sanders Jr, who couldn’t help but laugh.

Always maintaining his streak in sharing the behind-the-scenes of the Buffs practices, this time, too, Deion Jr. ensured to share it with the fans. He tweeted the video with the caption, “What’s wrong with Jimmy.” In the video, 51-year-old Hall of Fame defensive lineman Sapp is spotted sharing his words of motivation with the players, “Can we fight now? Can we… every day we taste the thrill, we compete, we compete against each other, we shop on each other cause this is what we got. This is all we need.”

The highlight of the incident was Horn Jr.’s spot-on imitation of Sapp’s facial expressions. As the wide receiver exaggeratedly widened his eyes, a trademark of Sapp’s passionate interactions with players, Bucky, behind the camera, couldn’t contain his laughter. Horn Jr. added to the comedy by playfully spinning in place, a nod to Sapp’s style of observing players. This was perhaps a gesture of welcome to Sapp, who was recently hired by Deion Sanders.

Deion Sanders found trust in Sapp

On Monday, April 15, the University of Colorado confirmed that the Pro Football Hall of Famer had been hired as a graduate assistant coach. With this, Sapp has enrolled at the graduate level and will continue giving education classes at the CU Boulder graduate school. Even though Sapp is a former NFL defensive tackle with little coaching experience, Sanders has trusted him in this new role.

Earlier, Sapp had it off with Colorado defensive linemen during his trips to Boulder to fulfill his wish to see Sanders. Gradually, Sapp picked up a close bond with Coach Prime and dearly called him a big “teddy bear.” However, the Buffs HC has found him responsible enough to carry out the duties of enrolling in coursework at the graduate level.

Even though Sapp’s position comes with little remuneration, Deion Sanders gave him a breakthrough since it is considered an entry-level coaching job. However, without considering all these limiting factors, he got a warm welcome from the Buffs player, Horn Jr., who greeted him with open arms.
