The dark days of Michigan are in the past now and yet, the team continues to face their backlash for it till today. Back in 2023, the Wolverines were accused of illegal campus scouting and signal stealing, which even resulted in the suspension of Jim Harbaugh for a few games. Even after proving everyone wrong and going on to win the natty, the haters still hold the team to their worst standard.

Sherrone Moore, the new HC for the Michigan Wolverines, is currently redefining the team to defend their title in the 2024 season. With the likes of Ricky Johnson, Wesley Walker, and Jaden Mangham joining the team, Moore has also brought in 4 new analysts, which is resulting in the haters lashing out at the team that was once alleged of using unfair means of recruitment.

The Michigan Wolverines lost over 18 players to the NFL Draft after their championship season last year. As such, there was a dire need in the team to fill the gaps and bring in new talents, and that too, ethically. Last year, Conor Stalions, the previous analyst at Michigan, chose to indulge in in-person scouting of Michigan’s future opponents, violating a rule established in 1994.

All the star players like JJ McCarthy, Roman Wilson, Zak Zinter, Blake Corum, and LaDarius Henderson left for the NFL this season, which will drastically plummet the chances of Michigan’s performance being similar to that of last season. As such, Moore’s decision to bring in some new recruiting analysts makes sense, but the fans aren’t taking too kindly to the news.

Now that Moore has brought in new analysts after Stalions was released last year, the haters are drawing attention to Michigan’s unfair practices. A tweet by Alejandro Zuniga summarised the 5 newest analysts to the team, which are: Reid Kuhl, Preston Sagan, Jacob Weber, Jacob Sakk, and Jack Turner. The trollers were quick to reply in the comments and one of them wrote, “Wasn’t Stalions title analyst?” This is obviously meant to serve as a reminder of the malpractices that the program took part in, but this wasn’t the end of all the hate. In fact, it was just the beginning.

The fans react brutally to the Wolverines’ newest additions

Even after Michigan’s unbeaten streak in 2023, their monumental achievement was never truly accepted by the college football community since it was difficult for them to digest the fact that they won it through solemn, hard work rather than the cheating advantages.

This user wrote, “Still cheating” and predicted that even with the newest additions, the Wolverines won’t stray further from last year’s actions.

Cheating to win again“, is what this person said and adding on to the claims that the Wolverines wouldn’t have been able to win the championship without cheating in 2023.

With Harbaugh and the Wolverines’ name being dragged through the mud rigorously last year, it’s been difficult for Moore’s team to prove their innocence. Another user reacted to the news by commenting, “lol,” implying that the fans aren’t taking the Wolverines seriously as they prepare themselves for a rough 2024 season.

Lastly, a fan had a different view than everyone else when he said, “They need wideouts now, right now!” Ever since the Wolverines’ best WRs like Roman Wilson and Blake Corum left the team, it is obvious that they’ll need big names to step up to the position if the dreams of winning the natty again are to be followed through.
