The Washington Huskies just set a college football record, but not in a positive light! It’s a similar fate with Alabama but only, it’s a bigger issue to tackle because we’re talking about a complete offensive extraction. The Huskies might no longer be the Huskies we knew of when they played at the National Championship game.

The condition that the Huskies are facing indirectly results from Nick Saban’s retirement from college football. Ever since he made the decision, there had been a roster pandemonium with both coaches and players running helter-skelter. But it looks like Washington took the hardest blow in the players’ transfer unrest.

Breaking news by Blue Bloods Bias on Twitter revealed that “the entire Washington Huskies offense that started in the National Championship is gone.” All eleven offensive starters who appeared in the National Championship will no longer be part of the Huskies. This is the first time in the history of the BCS/CFP era that a college football program returned zero offensive starters.

It’s heartbreaking for the team that advanced to the National Championship, ultimately losing to the Michigan Wolverines. Out of the 11 outgoing players, eight of them are entering the NFL Draft while three of them transferred to SEC programs. Both former starting LG Nate Kalepo and RG Julius Buelow committed to Ole Miss while Huskies’ former starting center Parker Brailsford transferred to Alabama.

Why are players leaving Washington?

Not much can be said about the players who are leaving for the pro league in 2024. But for those Pac-12 players transferring to the SEC, one of the chief reasons might be because of Kalen DeBoer’s sudden departure from Washington. The 49-year-old served as the Huskies’ HC from 2022-23 before transferring to Alabama after Nick Saban left the program after 17 years as HC.

Since then, players have been blindsided as many announced their decisions to leave the program. Brailsford became the second Washington player to follow DeBoer to Alabama, the first being QB Austin Mack. As of today, the Crimson Tide bagged three former Huskies with the latest one being WR Germie Bernard. As for the Washington Huskies football team, they might face challenges in the upcoming season due to the loss of all eleven offensive starters. It could be a daunting task for the Huskies’ new HC Jedd Fisch to rebuild the offense from scratch.
