The 2024 NFL Draft buzz had stolen the attention of so many people nationwide, with over a record 275,000 people attending the event on Thursday night. For Shedeur Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes, their spring weekend clashed with the draft event, stealing their focus from their spring game. But is the Colorado Buffs QB intrigued by what happened in the 2024 NFL Draft?

Multiple outlets have projected Shedeur Sanders as one of the top QBs for the 2025 NFL Draft, including Deion Sanders, who has the utmost faith and confidence in his son as the Top 1. However, after the Buffs are struggling after losing key players like Dylan Edwards and Cormani McClain, Shedeur Sanders has taken on a mature attitude.

During an interview with DNVR Sports on YouTube, Shedeur Sanders was asked if the Chicago Bears drafting Caleb Williams at No. 1 instilled excitement to be called out as the first overall pick. To this, he replied, “Nah. I got to keep the main thing. If I look too far ahead, I won’t be able to understand what’s going on right now. So the main thing is we got to win games. I want to be a perfectionist. I want to be able to perfect my craft.”

Shedeur Sanders revealed that he would rather be present in the current scenario, focusing on building his team for the upcoming season. The Buffs have lost 20+ players in the spring portal, which is uncalled for. So, as the 22-year-old signal caller opines, the main thing to focus on right now is cultivating a winning attitude among his teammates to secure wins that’ll help him reach his ultimate NFL goal. And the spring game has just set a great foundation for what’s ahead this season.

The weather at the CU Buffs’ spring game at Folsom Field didn’t align with the players’ favor as it was raining, but performance-wise, it was satisfactory. According to Deion Sanders’ observation of his players at the spring game, he’s optimistic that he’s watching a bowl-worthy team. He said, “The progress that we’ve made is another caliber of player that’s playing – a player that truly expects to go to the next level, meaning the NFL.”

In the game, the offense beat the defense with a score of 29-24, with Shedeur Sanders throwing the first TD, which was a 19-yard pass to recruit LaJohntay Wester. The QB also earned his father’s acknowledgment when he completed 10 of 14 passes, with Coach Prime saying, “The kid can flat-out play.” This season’s performance will affect the draft stocks for Shedeur Sanders, and he already knows that. Hopefully, it will be different from what happened last year when they fell 4-8.
