It looks like Folsom Field may need a revamp. EA Sports College Football 25 has dropped the latest look of the Colorado stadium, and it did not fit well with the Nebraska fans. Colorado football will get prime-time treatment for its second game of the 2024 season. The schools seem to have reignited their old rivalry, which is evident from the exasperation of the Cornhuskers just at the sight of the Colorado grounds.

With a face-to-face contention scheduled for September 7, the suspense was reigning high for the clash of titans, Shedeur Sanders vs. Dylan Raiola. But not anymore because the fans are too busy obsessing over the Folsom Field.

The Shedeur vs. Dylan narrative was enough to raise interest among both fandoms since the rivalry was largely dormant after the Cornhuskers left for the Big Ten in 2011. However, the interest scenario appears to be turned upside down. More than the players and their rivalry, Nebraska fans are immersed in the details of the post made by EA Sports College on X. The picture shows Folsom Field, filled with the crowd to the brim, dressed in the Buffs’ signature black and gold colors. And here, the Cornhuskers took offense as they demanded a red theme for the field.

There seems to be some tension between the two quarterbacks. While the Buffs fans pin their hopes only on quarterback sensation Shedeur, the same applies to the Cornhuskers, who are captivated by the talents of their QB Raiola. 247Sports, ESPN, and Rivals had once rated the Nebraska quarterback prospect as the top QB prospect in the country. It is unnecessary to mention how many times Deion Sanders’ son bagged the position of top quarterback. In such a scenario, none of them are prepared to vacate their position for the other and will spare no effort to bring victory to their respective teams. But who cares, as the fans are busy playing Colorman.

Fans dive into red vs. black and gold debate

While some Colorado fans took to the comment section on being mesmerized by the new look of Folsom Field, Nebraska fans flooded the post in droves to criticize it. A Nebraska fan devoured in some tongue-in-cheek debate pointing at the sentiments of the Buffs fans, “It’s hilarious how sensitive people get when talking about colorado.” Teasing Deion Sanders’ program’s disappointing past-season record and the controversy of the Spring weekend surrounding the Lollipop star performing, a fan wrote, “Wonder how good 4-8 sounds! Is lil Wayne gonna be there”

“Keeping tissue companies in business,” according to a Cornhuskers enthusiast, the emotional investment of the Colorado fans will cost them in the end, and they will need tissues to wipe their tears of sorrow. “Unrealistic it’d be more like this,” wrote a confident fan who firmly believes that the theme of red will overpower black and gold and posts a picture of a stadium filled with red jerseys. The same goes for another fan who rooted for the red rush in the Folsom Field, “If the away team in this photo is Nebraska… then you need to make the stadium mostly red.”

Colorado opens with North Dakota State on August 29, which could be a tricky game given the Bison’s consistency at the FCS level. However, the Colorado vs. Nebraska narrative will throw various storylines. But out of all, the Shedeur vs. Dylan plotline will be enough to attract the flash mob. Now, whether Folsom Field turns out to be a cornfield of red jerseys is to be seen.
