Recently, the eldest son of Coach Prime extended a fond remembrance to the two-way star who followed Deion Sanders to JSU in 2021. He uploaded a story of Hunter on his Instagram that read, “December 15. On this day, Travis Hunter flipped from Florida State to Jackson State.” Deion Sanders Jr. shows his appreciation for the young star’s commitment to his father who also followed him to Colorado for the 2023 season.
Travis Hunter committed to FSU in March 2020 after receiving a scholarship from the University in 2019. But in 2021, the 20-year-old cornerback/WR committed to JSU as the first 5-star recruit to commit to an FCS or HBCU program. According to 247Sports director Steve Wiltfong, the flip was “the biggest signing day moment in the history of college football.“
