Woah that’s a big statement! While the college football world is going gaga over Colorado Buffaloes dual threat Travis Hunter, it definitely is not “all unicorns and rainbows” for Deion Sanders’ favorite. There’s no denying he’s the top dog in the lineup and is hailed as the ‘Little Deion Sanders’ But wait!

There’s something that Hunter needs to work on- that is discipline. While the Buffs’ two-way star now finds himself under the critical microscope, Deion turns up as his ultimate safety shield. Coach Prime has even chalked out a special rule for Hunter.

While to the Buffs fandom, there is no replacement for Hunter as he is one-of-a-KIND player, the NFL on CBS podcast came up with a bitter truth. It might be a hard pill for the dual-threat fans to swallow, but Hunter is not exactly a model of self-control. And the analysts are here with the summer scouting 2025 reports. Among them, it was Rick Spielman who dropped the bomb, “He is a little bit I don’t want to call him Gunslinger he plays with some savvy but so undisciplined.” While the analyst tried to shower applause on Hunter by crowning him as “he got a little Deion in him,” it fell flat.

Spielman further highlighted what the two-way star needs to take care of, “But I just thought he was really undisciplined with his technique and looks like he’s out there playing street ball at times.” There are no second thoughts about the talent of a player who played like a hundred snaps. The only problem is that some support issues need to be well taken care of with a tad bit of discipline. Despite the chaos, Coach Prime still has Hunter’s back.

Deion comes up with a no-contact rule to shield Hunter

While college football fans often dragged Deion through dirt for giving special treatment to son Shedeur, here is something they must be aware of. No matter what happens, the Buffs HC is not willing to allow any harm to touch Hunter, who has excelled on both sides of the ball. Hence, Coach Prime had to arm himself up to give the two-way star a hassle-free experience. That being said, he raised a warning for the team that Shedeur along with Hunter is untouchable.

To quote Deion, “We in pads we having contact. Take care of your guys. Like I am going to tell you, don’t touch the receivers. Do not get near the QB and leave Travis alone.” The Buffs HC’s protection of the two-way star comes from a place of necessity now that Hunter has already sustained an injury last season against the Colorado State.

The urgency to protect Hunter just got a turbo boost after CU Buffs’ tight end, Louis Passarello retired on medical grounds. It’s better that Coach Prime takes action from now on so that his dual-threat does not suffer the same fate as Passarello.
