Arch Manning's $2.8M debut—Is he the next big thing or just another overhyped QB?

It’s almost unbelievable how the Texas QB rowed his boat through the public storm, came out in a new light, and is in an even bigger pickle now. Everyone was almost positively gleaming with happiness when it was revealed that Arch Manning had changed his mind about not being in the game and is finally going to join the other 11,000 players in CF’ 25. Unfortunately for the youngster, a whistleblower has lifted the curtain and put the ugly truth out there for everyone to see.

Arch Manning, the QB for the Texas Longhorns, was widely criticized when he refused to indulge in the game because he wanted to focus on playing actual football instead. Well, after months of backlash, nobody expected him to come out of nowhere and promote the game and announce that he would be in the game after all. While it was definitely a head-scratcher, the fans were exhilarated to hear the news but as it turns out, Arch might have only agreed to the whole thing because of how much he’s being paid by EA as remunerations.

Pete Nakos, a portal reporter for On3 Sports released a shocking new revelation about the Arch Manning situation, which seems to be the talk of the town today. His tweet from 10th July revealed the true reason why Arch was suddenly seen promoting the game when only a few months ago, he wasn’t even going to be a playable character in it.

The tweet talked about the financial compensation that Arch received, which is massively more than the $600 that every player in the game has been given. “EA Sports paid Texas QB Arch Manning between $50-60K to promote College Football 25, @On3sports has learned. The former No. 1 overall recruit in the 2023 class will also receive $600 and a copy of the game for opting in.” Thus, maybe more than a change of mind, Arch’s actions were maybe driven by money rather than a desire to be a part of history. With that being said, Eli Manning taunted the initial statement that was released about Arch’s reason to not partake in College Football 25 with a joke.

Have an interesting take?

Back in March, it was Texas football journalist Anwar Richardson who was the first to claim that several people told him that Arch Manning didn’t opt into the game since he was “focused on playing football on the field.” This statement was neither confirmed nor denied by Arch but it was one of the other reasons why the fans criticized him brutally. Now, Eli has come out and voiced his support for his nephew, while also implying that the statement might have been false in the first place.

Eli took to his X account and posted the promotional video of him and Arch playing the game together and captioned it, “It’s a great way to focus on football.” The 2-time Super Bowl winner definitely knew what he was doing with his 7-word caption but unfortunately, it won’t matter after all since the fans will pick apart Arch’s deal with EA as the new reason to belittle the young QB.
