College football has seen a significant increase in coaching salaries, which reflects the sport’s growing commercial value. The world of college football is not just about the game on the field; it’s also about the high-paid contracts of the head coaches. The coaches sure come with a price tag for their hard work and experience on the field. The salary of the head coaches of the college football team has always been a talk among the fans and the media.

Brent Brennan, Wildcats

Brennan is perhaps one of the youngest head coaches in the Big 12. Even as the lowest-paid coach, this is merely the beginning for him. He previously coached SJS, and now he is getting a $2. 2 million raise.

Gus Malzahn, Knights

Now, he has been the head coach of the UCF Knights for three years and has committed himself to the fourth year. Malzahn is known for his fancy and successful approach to the offense, which he brought to the UCF team in 2021. His current annual salary is a meager $2.3 million.

Dave Aranda, Bears

Dave Aranda is the head coach of the Baylor Bears. Baylor became a member of the Big 12 conference in 1996. He joined Baylor University as the head coach in 2020 and is currently dedicated to fixing the program. This talent has an annual wage of about $3 million.

Scott Satterfield, Bearcats

Scott Satterfield currently coaches the Cincinnati Bearcats. He has been a good observer of the team’s position since joining in 2023 after he was moved from Louisville. Satterfield started as the popular senior coach when Appalachian State secured three successive Sun Belt Championships. Thus, Satterfield’s annual remuneration is about $3.4 million.

Kenny Dillingham, Sun Devils

He performs as a coach and can be referred to as one of the youngest coaches nationwide. Kenny Dillingham is the head coach of the Arizona State Sun Devils, which he joined in 2023. Dillingham is well recognized as an offense coordinator in some institutions, including Oregon, Auburn, and Florida State. His yearly earnings amount to roughly $3.85 million.

Neal Brown, Mountaineers

Brown has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the University of Massachusetts. He lives and breathes football, hence the realization that reveals the understanding that his experience as a football player gave him a good foundation and consequently has turned him into the great football coach he is today. Brown was previously the head coach of Troy University before joining West Virginia Mountaineers as the head coach for the team. He started his professional career in 2019, playing for the Mountaineers. Per the latest information, Brown’s salary stands at $4.0 million.

Matt Campbell, Cyclones

He has assumed leadership positions for more than 15 years now and is a leader with a lot of experience. At the same time, he is the head coach of the Iowa State Cyclones and has initiated the process of improving the Cyclones’ performance in the struggle for the Big 12 conference. Campbell has also coached other teams in lower divisions, like Toledo and the college division at Iowa State. This experience helped him to sit down and bargain out the terms of his contract, which enabled him to earn $4 million.

Willie Fritz, Houston

As can be observed, Willie is rather rich in experience. He is a former head coach of the Tulane Green Wave football team. McGuire then became Mike Leach’s successor, getting a chance to go to consecutive bowl games while at the Texas Tech University. Deion Sanders, Buffs

Even though he might not be highly paid, Coach Prime is a fan favorite. He began coaching teams in 2020, joining Jackson State University as a head coach. He took the team to the SWAC Championship. Deion signed as the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes in December 2022. The annual remuneration for Coach Prime is $5.9 million.

Kyle Whittingham, Utes

Kyle is the head coach at Utah’s collegiate institution, the Utes. Jordan has been coaching since 1994 and was promoted to head coach in 2005. The Utes Whittingham’s Pac-12 team has been relatively decent, with a couple of division wins and several high-powered bowl wins. Whittingham’s annual remuneration is approximately $6.3 million.

Mike Gundy, Cowboys

Mike Gundy is an official of the Oklahoma State Cowboys team in the head coach’s capacity, which he took up in 2005. He makes more than all the other Big 12 coaches on the list. He was able to fashion the Cowboys into several bowls and even a Big 12 championship in 2011. Mike’s relationship with the team and the concept are offense and stability. Gundy’s net salary is pegged at $7 million a year.
