Coach Prime is just back from a tropical vacation. The head coach joined his son Deion Sanders Jr. for a heart-to-heart interview on his YouTube channel. Deion spoke candidly about his goals and his unique perspective on success. He even argued that success doesn’t have to be a cutthroat competition. He thinks it’s “disgusting” to pull down others while measuring success.
Deion even went on to question the negativity of needing to hate someone to love another. In doing so he also opened up about the difficult realities of life, including the challenges faced by children of divorced parents. This insightful conversation showcased both Deion’s passion and his depth, making it a must-watch for anyone seeking inspiration.
Deion, who has been divorced twice, spoke out against the “hate you to love you” mentality he sees in society. He argued that people can admire multiple successful people without pitting them against each other. It looks like this sentiment resonated with him on a personal level. Thus he went on to say, “That’s what happens with divorce parents…….Someone… turns the children against the other person just because you’re not with the other person”.

According to Deion, “The child has the propensity to love both. They don’t have to love me and hate you or hate you and love me. That don’t make sense.” Thus the head coach shed some light on co-parenting after divorce.
Coach Prime focuses on healthy parenting despite legal dramas
Deion Sanders knows firsthand the challenges of divorce. Married twice, both unions ended in separation. His first marriage to Carolyn Chambers in 1989 lasted eight years and produced two children — Deion Sanders Jr. and Deiondra. A couple of years later, he married model Pilar Sanders, with whom he had three more kids — Shilo, Shedeur, and Shelomi. But this marriage also ended in divorce in 2013.

Deion’s divorce is way behind him, but the defamation and mental turmoil are still significant. Despite that, Deion seems to prioritize healthy relationships and parenting. He hasn’t let past difficulties affect their “propensity” to love both parents. Both Carolyn and Pilar appear to have positive relationships with their kids.
Carolyn often shares pictures and memories of her 2 kids on social media. Meanwhile, Pilar also spends quality time with her kids. At times, Shelomi even makes headlines for her fun hair color adventures with her mom. Thus Deion’s own life seems to mirror his message that children of divorced parents don’t have to pick sides.
