Seems like Kirby Smart has taken the saying, “Grow old but never grow up” too seriously. During an interview, Justus Terry also shared an incident that reflects Kirby’s childish way of living when he does not have to act professionally. Just like it should be!
The epic water-gun battle with Kirby Smart
On August 8th, Jeff Sentell host of Before the Hedges tweeted a small snippet of his interview with Justus Terry “Got the chance to sitdown with 5-star #UGA target @JustusTerry80 recently. Some watergun fun with Kirby Smart came up. The full interview airs at 8 PM tonight on “Before the Hedges.” In the snippet, Justus could be seen remembering the incident when he and his teammates got Coach Kirby with a water gun to wet him. Justus said, “he tried to play it smooth..” The incident happened when Kirby was free-walking with the parents, presumably, as if nothing would happen to him. To his surprise, that was the moment when they got him!

Though Justus was not the one, he also had his partner-in-crime teammates like Isaiah Gibson, Bo Walker, Jayden Walker, and many others. When Jeff asked about Kirby’s reaction to the epic attack if he showed his speed in his reaction to the attack. Justus replied, “Yes, sir, yeah, he took off a little bit. I didn’t know he still had it in him.” Of course, he would have. It is Kirby we are talking about here. We all know he still has it in him. Nothing much has changed since his time as a Georgia player. His love for the game is the same, along with the boundless energy that he possesses to the same haircut and even the same school that he was a part of during his days.
How Kirby was as a player
Kirby’s reputation as one of the top coaches in college football, who also owns 2 National Championships, is well known. But before that, he was one of the top players in the SEC. His techniques come with a lot of discipline and experience. Kirby now coaches the Georgia Bulldogs, but around 26 years ago he hauled in a league-best 5 interceptions on his way to 1st team ALL-SEC. This happened during his senior season with the same school, which he never really left.
