Coach Prime and the Colorado Buffaloes are out in the sunshine as they carry on with their off-season practice. But today is a different day as they got off their normal practice routine and engrossed themselves in an internal competition among the Buffs players. A healthy competition is always beneficial and Coach Prime, who was a legendary football player himself, knows it better than anyone else.

This recent contest among the players is not something new for the Colorado Buffs. Coach Prime also made his players participate in a relay race in March to impart a golden moral of being a reliable teammate despite their strengths and weaknesses. Let’s check out what this current competition is about.

A recent YouTube Well Off Media upload by Deion Sanders Jr. on June 6 captured the Colorado Buffs’ team competition between positions. The team was divided into Travis Hunter and the defensive team and Shedeur Sanders and the offensive team. The two teams then each selected eight players to represent their team in the speed running challenge.

The outcome of the race came in favor of the defense team who won as they celebrated their victory saying things like “The offense got rough” and “We won.” The aim of this competition is to make them more competent by looking at their current situations as they build their chemistry with each other on the field. But are the players giving their 100% in the running? If they think like Shedeur Sanders, their participation could be a lite version of their real ability.

In another video on Well Off Media on June 3, the Buffs’ younger teammates trolled Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter. At one point in the video, the players took a dig at Hunter for his lack of speed due to the injury he suffered. The Buffs QB didn’t face a better judgment than the two-way star.

In another part of the video, Shedeur Sanders explained why he isn’t running at top speed during practice. His reason is that he’s saving the best for when the real game begins. Perhaps, his real speed could become an asset to give a hard time to the unsuspecting opponents if they don’t see his speed in practice. Whatever the strategy is, high hopes are placed on Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter as they get ready for their second and last season in Colorado as college football players.
