The PBR World Finals draws every kind of person from all corners of the nation, and in the case of professional rodeo cowboy John Crimber, you could even meet your college player idol. Colorado Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter is not just a football player but a man of diverse interests. This offseason, he’s been immersing himself in various activities, from joining Lionel Messi in his victory in Miami to traveling to Fort Worth, Texas, to experience the thrill of an adrenaline-filled sport.

Travis Hunter and Leanne were in attendance at Cowtown Coliseum, a moment that brought a delightful surprise to 18-year-old John Crimber, the son of Brazilian bull rider Paulo Crimber. Despite his young age, Crimber is already a notable name in PBR as the youngest rookie to join the PBR World Championship in second rank. Spotting Hunter at the venue, Crimber couldn’t contain his excitement, exclaiming, “It’s my favorite college player!” Hunter, equally thrilled, reciprocated the admiration, creating a heartwarming bond between the two.

The Miami experience was incredible for Travis Hunter, who witnessed two major accomplishments from two different stars of two different sports over two days. He first got a chance to witness the Inter Miami beat the New York Red Bulls 6-2 on Saturday night. It was a memorable game because soccer legend Messi broke the MLS record with one goal and five goal assists, making him the first player to have six goals in a single game.

To top off his experience, he was privileged to watch F1 from the deluxe Miami GP Paddock Club. And this isn’t just any race either because history has changed here, too, as 24-year-old Lando Norris landed his first win in F1 since joining in 2019. The intrigue is that he defeated reigning World champion Max Verstappen in mere seconds to become the first Brit to win on American soil after Lewis Hamilton’s COTA win in 2012.
