USA or “The land of opportunities”. America is a great nation, but every nation has its flaws. Today we find Leanna Lenee, Travis Hunter’s fiancée, sharing her side of the story about what made the US stand out for her. The duo is getting married soon with a romance that has lasted since college. She has always been there for Travis through his games and even during his liver injury. So let’s find out what she had to say in a small Q&A she did on her Instagram.

On July 21st, a fan asked Lenee a straightforward question. “When you come to America since you were born in England,” they said. Lenee gave a simple answer but it had one important detail in it. “I MOVED TO AMERICA WHEN I WAS 10 YEARS OLD AND IT WAS LIKE HELLLAAAAA CULTURE SHOCK LOL,” she replied. Now, cultural shock isn’t something new or extraterrestrial. If any of us had to move places, we too would find ourselves wrapped in new customs or rules. Being intrigued by her response the fan went on to ask, “Why is America culture shock.” To which Lenee summed up every new thing she witnessed ever since she stepped foot on American soil.

She replied, “RACE IS THE BIGGEST ONE IN EUROPE RACE WASN’T A HUGE TOPIC. EVERYONE IS VERY LOVING/ACCEPTING OF EVERYONE SO ME BEING MIXED IT WAS WEIRD COMING HERE WHERE MY RACE WAS MADE A HUGE DEAL/TOPIC BC IN GERMANY IT WASN’T A HUGE DEAL OR EVEN LOOKED AT TWICE. ALSO MOVING HERE PPL ARE MORE OPINIONATED THAN EUROPE LOL.” Lenee, a person of mixed descent, namely black, Mexican, and Filipino may have not faced the same racial prejudices in England as she did in America. Of course, some people can take her reply as something negative, but sometimes some old evils tend to linger around like a disease. Hell, take COVID as an example. We have got vaccines and everything for it now but yet we see cases of it spiking sometimes. However, looks like now Lenee has become accustomed to everything and is grateful to be where she is in life, despite the challenges. With her wedding on the way, I’m sure fans would be much more intrigued about that part.

Just one more year

Ever since their Hawaii trip, fans have been tapping their feet in excitement and searching for answers to “When is the wedding?” Well, fear not. Back on July 18th, Leanna Lenee shared on her Instagram story the excitement her friend was going through as she was invited to be Lenee’s bridesmaid. A box with a bottle of wine, a letter, and wait, what’s that? A date? Lenee hid the date well from her fans but her friend failed to do so.

May 25th, 2025 is when the couple is planning for the wedding to take place. When her friend mentioned in her story, “omfg y’all I literally been cutting up all morning.” It was no joke. I’m sure all the fans would feel the same. Now everyone has two things to look forward to; Travis Hunter crushing the 2024 season for the Buffs and the couple getting married in 2025.
