Travis Hunter is an authentic 49ers faithful! The Buffaloes‘ two-way star has openly expressed his love for his favorite NFL team, the San Francisco 49ers, time and again. Yes, it’s the same team his coach, Deion Sanders, played for in the ’90s as a cornerback, even winning a Super Bowl!

Hunter proved his die-hard fandom this time while hanging on a zip line. Yes, you read it right. Last month, Travis Hunter took a trip to a Hawaiian island with his fiancée, Leanna Lenee, and her brother, Kaden. The two-way phenom has now posted a full-length vlog of his trip on his YouTube channel.

In the video, Travis Hunter is seen getting ready for some breathtaking views as he heads toward the adventurous hanging cable. During this daring cable rope adventure, his tour guide playfully asked, “All right Travis, who is better?” referring to his favorite NFL team. Without a second’s hesitation, Hunter replied, “49ers! 49ers is the best team in America.”

But Kaden, his future brother-in-law, wouldn’t let him off the hook that easily. He playfully poked fun at Hunter, saying, “Until you say Green Bay, you’re not coming in.” But nothing could change Hunter’s stance. He jokingly reiterated, “Well, I will hang here all day…Never going to be a cheesehead fan.”

Now, Hunter’s staunch support for the 49ers is quite clear. But this isn’t the first time he’s shown his loyalty to the team; he did the same thing last year, once again proving he will never be a cheesehead. It looks like Boulder has a die-hard 49ers fan in Travis Hunter!

Travis Hunter’s heart stays in San Francisco

Travis Hunter often goes live and plays games while chatting with his fans on his Twitch channel. During one of these livestreams last year, fans repeatedly asked about his potential NFL destination. Many speculated that he would end up with the Green Bay Packers. Noting that, the Buffs star gave a hilarious response: “Everybody I’ve talked to says I’m going to go to Green Bay. I don’t know why, but Green Bay is cold….Why do I have to go to Green Bay?” It’s clear he’s never been a fan of that team. And when fans asked about his favorite NFL team instead, he responded, “My favorite NFL team is the 49ers. But if I had to say, I like staying in Colorado.” 

Despite early mock drafts predicting the WR/CB combo to land with teams like the Denver Broncos or Minnesota Vikings, his heart truly stays with the 49ers. If Hunter could pull an Eli Manning and choose his team, it would definitely be the 49ers. Even Deion Sanders believes in his star player’s potential to do just that. He confidently spoke of his two-way star and QB son this March, saying, “I know where I want them to go. So, it’s certain cities that ain’t gonna happen. It’s going to be an Eli.”

While Deion has teams like the Broncos and Falcons in mind, Hunter seems to be fixed on the 49ers. We’ll just have to wait and see if he can pull an Eli in the 2025 draft!
