In the last season with the Buffs, Hunter has spread his influence in and beyond the football ground, so much so that analyses have already been taken up to make him an ultimate hit in the next NFL Draft. To start with, Edwards goes through a plan of action for Hunter. In his latest tweet, the NFL analyst suggested, “I prefer Travis Hunter at Corner in the #NFL than WR.”

Even though Hunter is one of a kind, with his forte lying in playing on both sides of the ball, according to Edwards, if he focuses on one position, it will be easier for him to stand out. On the defense side of the ball, he’s probably the most talented cornerback in the country.

Travis Hunter’s athletic prowess and versatility make him a formidable force, particularly in man coverage. However, there’s a divergence of opinion between Colton Edwards and Deion Sanders on the best use of his skills in the NFL, adding a layer of uncertainty to his future.

Deion Sanders’ strong statement about Hunter

The Buffs HC, apart from his quarterback son, Shedeur, is very protective of Hunter. According to Coach Prime, the player must be known for being ambidextrous and play both offense and defense when he makes a debut at the professional level. As Sanders revealed, “NFL got a problem. What are you gonna draft him as? And… he’s gotta play both ways. ‘Cause he has value on both sides of the ball.”

Coach Prime’s decision for Hunter has solid ground. In their first year at Colorado, Hunter was a consensus All-America and has been handed over the 2023 Paul Hornung Award for being the most versatile player in college football. Hence, versatility runs through his blood, and he has imbibed himself into playing both ways. As the Buffs HC further revealed, it is only by playing for both sides that Hunter will emerge as a two-way threat, forcing NFL teams to draft him.

Hence, the NFL teams in the upcoming draft will have a tough time recruiting Hunter as their options surrounding the Buffs player seem immense. Whether he’s drafted as a receiver or cornerback will also profoundly impact his future earnings.
