Wasn’t it only a month ago that Travis Hunter‘s fiancée said he was broke? Well, considering they were on a trip to Mexico, and Leanna Lenée said it after the two-way football star “lost like $200 in the casino” playing with her birthday money, it was all in good fun. Because how could Hunter, who’s been steadily propelling his NIL wealth to new heights, be broke? Courtesy of his collaboration with thе $19.1 billion еnеrgy drink giant, Cеlsius, he took his vacation from Mexico to Miami. And in the process, he witnessed history being made.
For someone who relates the Hard Rock Stadium to the Miami Dolphins’ home, Travis Hunter experienced the venue slightly differently. Instead of watching football players lining up on the gridiron, the 20-year-old was welcomed by the Formula 1 paddock, a concept that makes for one of the most special F1 experiences. But before making his way to the Dolphins’ blue surroundings, it was everything pink for Hunter and Lenée at the Chase Stadium – the home of Lionel Messi‘s Inter Miami.
On Saturday night, Travis Hunter traded his football cleats for soccer studs. Well, figuratively. Sitting in the stands with his fiancée, the two watched Inter Miami beat the New York Red Bulls 6-2 on a night when Messi broke multiple records, sеcuring Miami’s placе atop thе Eastеrn Confеrеncе tablе! And on Sunday, he witnessed a 24-year-old live his dream. Lando Norris secured his first victory in F1 on his 110th race start, having joined the F1 fray in 2019.

As a sports enthusiast, if there was one place to be last weekend, it was in Miami. And thanks to Hunter’s partnership with Celsius, the $2.7 million-worth two-way enjoyed a weekend many would remember for a long time. Sharing snippets from the trip on Instagram, Hunter showed his appreciation to Celsius for the luxurious stay. He wrote, “From the pitch to the track, what a weekend in Miami! Thank you, @celsiusofficial for having me out!”
Celsius’ season-long endorsement deal, renewed last September, comes after the energy drink brand initially partnered with Hunter before his season opener in the Orange Blossom Classic. “Thank you for all the support, Celsius family, and excited to be back with the team,” he wrote after the renewal. Courtesy of his Celsius collaboration, he also met fellow American Benjamin Cremaschi before the Inter Miami player took to the pitch on that historic night.

To think that one player contributed to all six goals a team scored seems almost unfathomable. But that’s what Messi did. With five assists – three of which helped Luis Suarez score a hat-trick – and a goal himself, the Argentinian became the first player in the MLS to have six goal contributions in a single game. Apart from that, his five assists were an MLS record, too. That added to his tally of 1200 career goal contributions, making him the first person in world soccer to achieve that feat. With Saturday well spent, Hunter was in for a treat even on Sunday.
Sitting in the luxurious Miami GP Paddock Club, Travis Hunter watched something that hasn’t happened in F1 for quite some time – reigning world champion Max Verstappen getting beaten on pure pace. With a little bit of luck and a lot of pace, Lando Norris’ McLaren crossed the chequered flag seven seconds ahead of Verstappen in P2. In the process, Norris secured his first win, becoming the first Brit to win on American soil since Lewis Hamilton in 2012 at COTA.
Needless to say, it was a weekend to remember for Travis Hunter. However, even before his post, Leanna Lenée shared glimpses of their MLS date on her Instagram story, highlighting the memorable experience sponsored by Celsius.

It’s not every day you get to witness history being made. And considering it was Lionel Messi making it no less, Leanna Lenée’s excitement was palpable at Chase Stadium. Documenting the high-scoring MLS game, she shared a video of Travis Hunter looking visibly enthralled. She captioned the video, Teaching him the greatest sport in the world,” expressing her eagerness to introduce Hunter to the joys of soccer.
Whether or not the two-way agrees with that sentiment, he sure did appreciate what was happening on the pitch. In the video, an Inter Miami player (presumably Lionel Messi) took a brilliant corner. And although his teammates couldn’t convert it into another goal, Hunter was audibly impressed, exclaiming, “That pass was crazy!”

It’s safe to say that both Travis Hunter and Leanna Lenée had a blast this past weekend. Who wouldn’t, considering the high-octane sporting action they witnessed?
