It’s like the stars are aligning for Travis Hunter! Amid all the predictions and praise for his 2025 NFL draft, Travis Hunter just had one thing to say about it. Dov Klieman did the honors of bringing the attention of the NFL fans to one particular live stream of Travis Hunter from 2023. In the live stream, Hunter confessed about his favorite NFL team being the 49ers, but he wants to stay in Colorado and hence play for the Denver Broncos. Although Hunter made the wish back in 2023, the strings of fate now seem to be working in his favor.

Now, per the projected draft order by the NFL, the Broncos are getting the 3rd pick. Most analysts, too, believe that the Broncos will get a pick in the 2025 position. Looking at the cornerback and wide receiver position of the Broncos, it’s not so good. Browning, Jonathon Cooper, and DJ Jones are all set to be free agents in 2025. The D-line would need some solid player backing it up. As for the O-line, the future of players like Sutton and Patrick is up in the air.

Now, add Travis Hunter getting predicted as a red-hot first-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft. Zac Stevens from DNVR Live strongly believes that Hunter would be a “favorite” of the Denver Broncos. “Broncos need a playmaking wide receiver,” Stevens explained. Even though Hunter is not a fully polished WR like Marvin Harrison Jr. yet, he has the fundamentals clear. Hence, the Broncos would look forward to drafting an “instant playmaker“, and molding him into the perfect all-around WR.

Along with the WR position, Hunter “could be a first-round need for cornerback for the Broncos as well,” as Stevens iterated. “So you literally get two positions of need at one. He fits two of the biggest needs.” Now the next big question for the Broncos is, will they let Hunter play in two positions? Even Stevens thinks it is highly unlikely but his head coach Deion Sanders has already issued a clear verdict.

Deion Sanders’s clear verdict on Travis Hunter’s playing position in the NFL

Deion Sanders saw the spark in Hunter’s eyes to excel in both ways and he called the shots then. Right from his time at Jackson State, Deion Sanders has gladly facilitated Hunter for playing the ball from both ways. Hence, Prime does not think that Hunter would settle for anything less after so many years of hard work.

“Travis came out of high school playing both ways. Travis going to college playing both ways, came from Jackson State playing both ways. Why would we change what he’s always done in his life?” Prime bluntly asked the NFL authorities during his interview with the DNVR podcast.

“NFL got a problem. What you gonna draft him as? And… he’s gotta play both ways. ‘Cause he has value on both sides of the ball,” Deion Sanders said, further intensifying the dilemma for the Broncos. So, of course, Travis Hunter would be an immensely valuable addition to the Broncos roster. But would it fit what Hunter needs from his team?
