Julian Lewis is having a whirlwind June! The 5-star quarterback, despite committing to USC last year, is keeping his options open with a series of visits to other colleges. This month alone, the nation’s No. 1 overall prospect has packed his schedule with several such ones. It all started with trips to Indiana and Auburn Tigers in quick succession this June. Just last week, he wrapped things up with a final visit to the Colorado Buffaloes.

In between these college tours, Lewis also participated in the prestigious Elite 11 finals for elite high school quarterbacks. There too he impressed with his accuracy, even earning the “Steady As She Goes” award. Even his dad, TC Lewis, acknowledged the hectic month on social media.

T Carlton Lewis posted a photo of Julian from the Elite 11 finals, praising his son’s dedication: “Proud of this kid for the month he’s had. He hasn’t backed down from anyone or anything; while being evaluated every rep and step of the way.” The dad even noted his own exhaustion, adding, “I’m tired and all I do is walk and talk, so I can only imagine how he feels. Time to recharge and get ready for the season #AlmostTime.”

With the whirlwind of visits and showcases over, now only the crucial final decision remains. Even Julian himself has admitted plans to “shut it down before the season” and focus on his senior year.

While we can expect a commitment word from him in the next 3-4 weeks, USC still seems like the frontrunner. But the Buffaloes, too, apparently made a strong impression during his visit. Could a switch be in the cards? Seems it’s likely possible.

CU Buffs make bold moves to grab Julian Lewis

Julian Lewis’ final visit to Colorado on June 21st was a full-court press by Deion Sanders‘ team to lure him away from Lincoln Riley’s USC squad. They pulled out all the stops, creating a festive atmosphere with fans of all ages – from kids to a 99-year-old superfan – holding “Welcome Home” signs and chanting “We Want JuJu.” A local burger joint even named a burger after Lewis! Even Lewis himself shared these warm moments on social media, hinting at his positive experience.

But the Buffs didn’t stop there. They capitalized on the “family” atmosphere by showcasing a poster featuring their current QB, Shedeur Sanders, symbolically passing the “CU keys” (or figuratively the starting QB role) to Lewis. Lewis even depicted eagerly grasping the keys, seemed to resonate with the message.

Now, is this a sign of positive things to come? We’ll have to wait a few weeks for the official word, but Boulder is scoring day by day.
