During their opening monologue at the CMAs this year, award show hosts Peyton Manning and Luke Bryan couldn’t resist injecting a joke about the most talked-about topic on the planet-  the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce saga. The Hall-of-Fame quarterback made a dark joke the distinction between Swift and the Jets. “Taylor can sell out a stadium,” Bryan admitted to the amusement of the fans.

Taylor Swift’s influence and ability to connect with her audience is unparalleled, and her being named TIME Magazine’s Person of the Year for 2023 comes as no surprise. Andrew Schulz and Charlamagne tha God on the latest episode of ‘The Brilliant Idiots’ delved into the gravity of her influential powers and compared it with an equally influential NFL icon who has dominated the American conscience.

Among the list of previous recipients of TIME Magazine’s “Person of The Year” are notable figures such as Tesla CEO Elon Musk, President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and teen climate activist Greta Thunberg. Recognized for her global impact, storytelling prowess, and significant contributions to society, Taylor Swift rightfully claims the title of TIME’s 2023 Person of the Year. Andrew Schulz believes that she’s America’s hero and she’s being rewarded for it.”

They compare her influence with other prominent American icons, including Donald Trump, Barack Obama, and NFL GOAT Tom Brady. There’s been like it or not Tom Brady like when Tom Brady won that Championship with the Buccaneers,” said Schulz when he was regarded as a ‘leader.’

The legendary quarterback was himself on a mission to prove his doubters wrong. He was able to fuel doubt into inspiration which made it possible for him to scale insane heights. Picked in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft at the 199th spot, Tom Brady defied expectations as a compensatory selection to emerge as one of the game’s greatest quarterbacks. A similar story has shaped Taylor Swift’s success story. “You use a leader like a hero inspiration person that we go to Taylor,” concluded Schulz.

Taylor Swift’s “struggle story” becomes America’s story

In the featured cover story, Taylor Swift engaged in an exclusive interview with Time’s Sam Lansky, marking her first in-depth conversation in nearly four years. Taylor Swift’s selection for this honor underscores her ability to transcend borders and serve as a beacon of light, validating the dreams and experiences of people, particularly women, who often feel overlooked and underestimated.
