Change might just be around the corner for student-athletes. College football is in one of the best states it could be currently, and college athletes are in their prime time. Speaking of prime time, Coach Prime is training the Colorado State University boys to be the best of the athletes out there. These boys also include his son, Shedeur Sanders.
Shedeur Sanders, the former Tigers’ QB, is now under the guidance of his two-time Super Bowl champion father. Naturally, the NIL values for Sanders will be skyrocketing, even reaching millions. Now that the QB has well settled into the Colorado team, he is looking forward to the hefty NIL deals, which were even valued at $10.1 million. However, a new bill might shatter the college star QB’s hopes.
Will the bill pose a problem for Shedeur Sanders?

Per the new bill passed, there will be certain restrictions for the student-athletes. Keeping in mind the millions they make, the bill aims at modifying the transfer protocol a bit. As it suggests, the students must complete at least 3 years: freshman, sophomore, and junior in their university. However, they are free to change or transfer after it. Along with this, they have put certain restrictions on auctioning off players’ schools against schools. Simply put, the senators want to limit the school bidding wars as much as possible.
However, the senators do not have any problem with the NIL policy; they, too, believe in the athletes’ earnings from their name, image, and likeness. Yet, this bill, if passed, will surely hamper the earnings of college football athletes like Sanders. Looking at it from the other end, for players like Sanders, who are star players of their colleges with multiple accolades already nestling on their shelves, it won’t be much of a problem.

Shedeur Sanders, through his college
Shedeur Sanders is graciously following the footsteps of his father, Deion Sanders. The Colorado QB has already won the hearts and the attention of the NFL with his performances. During his tenure with Jackson State, the QB was awarded SWAC (Southwestern Athletic Conference) Freshman of the Year in 2021. Moreover, he won the Jerry Rice Award for being the most outstanding freshman in NCCA Division 1.

In his sophomore year, Sanders was declared the SWAC Offensive Player of the Year. Along with this, he also received the Deacon Jones trophy for being the Nation’s top HBCU player. Seems like the Sanders’ mindset is nowhere near slowing down. With his years left with the Buffs, as well as the whole professional football career awaiting him, there is much more success that the audience will witness in the future.
