What if someone said that the 4-8 disaster of the Buffs could have been easily avoided? Well, per Deion Sanders, it could have. Throughout the 2023 season, analysts and players alike were blaming the faulty play-calling and problematic offensive line for it. Both these things had their loopholes, sure. The promotion of Pat Shurmur to the position of offensive coordinator, where he shared the co-offensive coordinator duties with former OC Sean Lewis. It was a huge flop. And for the O-line, allowing their QB to be sacked 52 times was the biggest flaw. The two of these have borne the burn of being the reason for CU’s loss. However, that is on the surface area.

In his June 24 podcast appearance on The Joel Klatt Show: A College Football Podcast, Deion Sanders admitted that all of it might have been avoided if he had followed the advice of his fellow coaches. “Coach Saban and some of the other guys, I don’t want to mention their names, but they give me so much and advice,” Sanders confessed. Then, Prime wanted to work things his way, which is why he did not follow their advice. Giving a second thought to it, Deion Sanders believed that if he had followed the word, “things might have been a lot different.”

Adding more to his confession about the disappointing 4-8 season, Prime just wanted to be “much more consistent. I gotta act on what I feel, and I gotta act on what I know.” The 4-8 water is under the bridge for the Buffs now and the lesson has been learned. The O-line is revamped with beasts like Jordan Seaton, who put up a fine show of what they can do with their skills during the Spring game. Now all that is left for Sanders to do is to follow the advice his son gave him.

Bucky’s advice to Deion Sanders

The ‘social media guy’ of Colorado has done a laudable job with growing the online fanbase of Colorado and Deion Sanders and Co. through his Well Off Media channel. Now, he has some advice for Prime to come up in the on-field scores department as well. Well, not exactly advice per se, but the attitude of a person. LA Lakers coach JJ Reddick.

Bucky, aka Deion Sanders Jr., feels that his father is “too soft” for this harsh world, especially after all the claims that his former students like Cormani McClain and Xavier Smith have made about him. Hence, Sanders Jr. now wants his father to develop a “don’t give a f*ck” attitude since Prime is so set to flip the narrative this season.

Sanders has already committed to his motto for the season with a strong “We Comin’.” Now, to actually make that happen and to give proper direction to his electric roster, will Deion Sanders change his sideline attitude altogether? Only time will tell.
