In a recent episode of ‘Fearless with Jason Whitlock,’ sports analyst Steve Kim criticized Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders and safety Shilo, questioning their commitment to the football program and labeling it as a lack of seriousness. Kim emphasized, “Generally, the high-profile quarterback is a team leader and starting safety is one of the better defensive players; and they’re coach’s sons who are both high profile. To miss the first team meeting or any meeting, this is not a serious football program!”

Jason Whitlock agreed with Kim’s views and suggested that Deion Sanders may not fully understand the importance of establishing a strong team culture. Whitlock argued that Sanders, being a talented player himself, may believe that talent alone is sufficient for success, especially considering his past success at JSU where there were significant talent disparities. “I think he believes in talent, and there’s a tiny kernel of truth to it. But he doesn’t understand that at the power five level, talent is spread out everywhere. This isn’t Jackson State, where he had so much more talent than everybody else,” said Whitlock.
