Is Deion Sanders right to worry about Shedeur's NFL future, or should he let him chase his dreams?

Deion Sanders, while being a phenom of the sport of football, is a family man through and through. He built his entire career on the base of a promise to his mother that he’d retire her so they’d never have to worry about money again and now that his own sons are football players; he is making sure that they learn the value of loved ones over work or career too.

This season is going to be a golden one for Coach Prime and his two sons, Shedeur and Shilo. Seeing as how they’re ready to pack their bags and leave for the NFL in 2025, this will be their last season playing under their father. As for someone who’s trained his sons all their lives, it will be tough to come to terms with the reality of it all for Deion. Thus, he is making sure that he spends more time with them at home rather than on the football field since there’s a high chance they will be leaving Colorado next year. Deion shared these feelings through the former coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Bruce Arians’ quote, who was once Tom Brady’s coach.

On 7th July, Deion took to Instagram to share his cryptic feelings about the importance of the work-life balance through the quote of Bruce Arians, signifying his stand on whether work should dominate over family and personal affairs. Despite a 7-ring career, this is one aspect of his life that Brady couldn’t get a handle on and ultimately led to the split of his family, as per Gisele Bundchen, his ex-wife. Now, Deion is channeling the same emotions as Gisele and Brady’s former coach to share his strong feelings towards prioritizing family over career.

Deion Sanders put Arians’ quote in his story, which read, “When I hear about guys sleeping in their office, I wonder what the hell they’re doing there. The work will always be there, the kids won’t.” This just goes to show that Deion believes in leaving work right in the office and coming back home on time to see his loved ones and bid them goodnight. That seems like the mantra to success to every successful person in life and if that balance is attained perfectly, then the climb to glory doesn’t seem as tiring anymore. Moreover, here are Brady’s own words on how he regrets not spending enough time with the children during his NFL career.

With the way that Brady kept himself fit and well-maintained with a physique that was to die for, the fans wanted him to play for a lot more years than he did. But after 23 years, Brady decided to hang up his cape even though it was evident that his body could’ve supported him for a few more championship runs. Why didn’t he? Because of the time he’d been missing with his kids.

As per Brady, he could’ve continued to play football until he was “50 or 55” if he “wanted to” and yet chose not to. “My physical body won’t be the problem,” he said while chatting with Amazon Prime Video’s Andrea Kremer and Hannah Storm during the Thursday Night Football face-off against the Buccs and the Philadelphia Eagles. “I think it’ll just be, I’m just missing too much of life with my family.” The fans would surely be sad to know that Brady could’ve worn the pads for a few more years but chose not to. Yet, in the words of both Deion and Arians, it is evident that family comes first, and with a legacy like Brady’s, a sportsman should know when it’s time to take the shoes off for good.
