On one hand, Shedeur Sanders’s draft stock is plummeting way ahead of his 2025 NFL draft. Replacing him is Carson Beck, taking over as the QB1 in most of the mock draft stocks, potentially drawing bad blood with Shedeur Sanders. Yet, Shedeur Sanders’ belief in his skills is on cloud nine. The son of Coach Prime is not letting anyone bring him down, not even the GOAT Tom Brady.

While his father expects him to go as a QB1, Shedeur Sanders is setting his image straight for the 2025 NFL draft by comparing himself to the legendary Tom Brady and Michael Vick. When asked about how his skills compared to Brady and Vick, Shedeur Sanders was trying to have the best of both worlds. Per him, he’s a “mixture of both.” The reason for it? “I’m able to stay in the pocket and want to deliver the ball each and every play like Brady but be able to extend plays and if it’s not there, take it like Vick,” Shedeur Sanders said in his interview with Complex Sports, drawing parallels between their gameplay.

Even his teammates prompted Shedeur to either be Brady or Vick for the night based on the situation. For him, “It’s a mixture of a lot of great QBs that all just have a different skill set so that’s why I feel like I’m special in what I bring to the table.” Shedeur Sanders does like to keep the ball in his pocket. However, paired with his delayed decision while passing ends up with him being sacked (last season, he was the most sacked QB in the nation with 52 sacks). So, if Shedeur Sanders wants to establish a strong dominance in the league, or even in this season, to get his plummeting draft stocks up.

Shedeur Sanders’ bruised draft stocks

The mock draft analysts are not going easy on Shedeur Sanders. At the beginning of the buzz of the 2025 NFL draft, Prime set a trend in Shedeur’s name by expecting him to pull an “Eli Manning.” However, as soon as the initial mock drafts for the 2025 season started rolling in, Shedeur Sanders’ draft stock sustained major injuries.

None of the mock draft analysts saw Prime’s son as a first-round pick. Daniel Kelly of First Round Mock thinks that Shedeur probably won’t be a first-round pick because of his clumsiness while under pressure and because “he is afraid to make a mistake.” Shannon Sharpe, on the other hand, thinks that Shedeur would surely be a “first-rounder“. The opinions are still mixed. In the end, it would all boil down to how Shedeur performs this season.
