The Giants are known for taking quarterbacks early in the draft, and they need one. They might even trade up to get the perfect guy. Also, all fingers point to Drake Maye. A leaked text message hints that the Giants are seriously considering him for the 2024 NFL Draft.

Insider leaks hint at the Giants’ draft plans for quarterback

Giants beat writer Pat Leonard dropped a bombshell on the Talkin Ball podcast, hinting at the Giants’ interest in drafting a quarterback in 2024. “I got a text today from a source. Lot of conversations right now about who the Giants may like and where they may go,” he revealed. The intrigue intensified when he added, “One person texted me, ‘Maye is the guy.'”

Fellow reporter Ralph Vacchiano also echoes the sentiments. He believes if the Giants decide to trade up for a quarterback, their top target will be North Carolina’s Drake Maye. Leonard backed this up, saying, “I can validate and verify that is where the arrow is pointing.” This would mean the Giants are making some bold moves behind the back.

Are the Giants planning a daring draft move for Drake Maye? 

Off late, the Giants have been seriously scouting every top draft quarterback, and word is they may already have their favorite. That means a bold trade-up to grab their guy is possible – something GM Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll aren’t afraid to do. Recently, rumors suggest the Patriots are interested in Jayden Daniels or J.J. McCarthy. This could leave Drake Maye open for the Giants. Of course, the Commanders would have to pass up on him, too, but if that happens, the Giants might make the Patriots an offer they can’t refuse to move up to No. 3 and secure Maye.
