The Texas Aggies are set to lose one of their best players in the squad, according to the newest announcement. This year’s transfer portal keeps getting interesting as more and more players keep moving to other teams. But this player’s shift from the Aggies to the Longhorns is definitely being speculated about.
Although four-star TyAnthony Smith has committed to the Aggies, it appears that the Longhorns’ pitching might tempt him away after Jimbo Fisher‘s dismissal. Smith is a valuable linebacker who has performed brilliantly this season. As such, if the deal goes in favor of the Texas Longhorns, the Aggies will have to bear the brunt of the consequences if Smith chooses to leave the team.
TyAntony Smith will be headed to Longhorns University to consider his options.

At the moment, Smith is still committed to the Aggies, but the Longhorns are known to flip the switch on the commitment and bring players onto their team. They managed to flip Wardell Mack from the Florida Gators and sign him earlier this week.

As the Longhorns staff prepares for the supposed flip, Smith will be visiting the Texas faculty this weekend as he tries to keep the door open for his career opportunities. But with the loss of Smith, the Texas Aggies will be losing out on one of the best players on the roster, and they’ve already had a tough season so far.
The struggles of the Texas A&M Aggies this season
Being an Aggies fan has been tough this season with all their controversies. Jimbo Fisher was recently released from the team after a string of disappointing performances. They finished this season with an average record of 7-5, and thus, the firing of Fisher was imminent as the team failed to make an impact at the national level.
Mike Elko went 16-9 as the head coach at Duke.

But because Fisher was released from the team without the expiration of his contract, he had to be paid $76 million as a buyout. Since then, the Aggies have been looking for a coach to replace Fisher, and they finally made a decision with Mike Elko. Come next season, there will be a lot riding on Elko’s shoulders as he tries to take Texas all the way to the championship.
