It’s a losing year for Texas A&M. First with Jimbo Fisher’s thumping $75 million payout, followed by the costly off-season. The teams that didn’t cutCOMMITTING playoffs are now devising their master plan for the upcoming season, be it the Colorado Buffs or Texas A&M.

As each team awaits its next batch of fresh talents, they also have to deal with the other side of it: decommits. The list of players is only adding up. Last year, it was Anthony Hill Jr., this year it was CB Deuce Harmon. And it does not stop there.

Having entered the transfer portal in November, the Texas A&M wide receiver made a stirring announcement of his commitment to Kentucky University. Through his social media, the WR posted a special message for his fans. I didn’t want to make an edit post. I wanted to do my own thing. Thank you to the BBN. I thank y’all so much for y’all the support has been real,” expressed Raymond Cottrell.

However, he traced back to the main announcement,“…with that being said, I WILL BE COMMITING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY #BBN GO WILDCATS!!!!!!” The picture complementing the announcement was a classy edit, where the WR donned the Wildcats’ uniform.

Although Cottrell’s incumbency lasted only a season with the Aggies, appearing for just three games, the WR sure left his mark. Cottrell only got one chance to flaunt his talent at the Aggies. In the week 3 game against UL Monroe, WR made his sole reception of the season, through a game-changing touchdown catch, resulting in a stunning 47-3 win for Texas. Surely Fisher saw the potential in the guy. But with him out of the picture, Cottrell sought after other prospects, better prospects.

A former player of Milton High School, the WR made a statement farewell from his school after being ranked a four-star prospect of the 2023 class. Along with this, his ranking spoke for itself, the no. 33 WR no. 230 overall player.

Cottrell’s after-effects on Texas A&M

Safe to say, the Texas A&M Aggies lost a highly in-vouge player, as after his admission in the transfer portal, almost two dozen universities contacted him. However, Raymond Cottrell made sure to lay down his intentions clearly on the table, with Kentucky University being the only one to get an official visit from the WR.

Only some talented recruits choosing A&M as their school will be the soothing balm for the team, as they cope with the changing dynamics of their team. Only time will tell how efficient it proves to be.
