Nobody knows how or from where it came, but Jones AT&T Stadium witnessed a furry, uninvited guest on the field during the first quarter of the game. The Thursday night game between the TCU Horned Frogs and Texas Tech Red Raiders has soared in popularity with the intervention of the little possum.
The last game between TCU and Texas set them both tied at 4-5 this season. Texas got the upper hand in the last game, winning the game 35-28. But the Bowl Game chance seems to be slipping further for both teams. But as of now, the uninvited cuddly furry creature stole the spotlight as the one and only animal incident in the 2023 college football season.

A possum was spotted running loose on Jones AT&T Stadium earlier in the first quarter of the TCU vs. Texas game. The lovable, furry creature scampered inside the field and didn’t appear to be pleased when he was dragged away. Many people have taken to social media to post about the incident, including this one that reads, “Possum on the field at the TCU game.“

Sadly for the possum, he didn’t get much time to enjoy his freedom on the field. Officials quickly caught it and towed it away. The little incident caught the attention of social media as the possum’s videos circulated, and its frustrated reaction to being dragged away from the field quickly became a meme.
Several memes are already popping up, and even Fox College Football also decided to join in the entertainment. On its official Twitter account, it posted the video of the possum and captioned, “When dad pulls you out of bed in the morning before school.” The incident may have served as an entertainment break, but exciting action went down between TCU and Texas in their last game.
TCU loses to Texas

Last year, TCU crushed Texas in a 34-24 victory, but this year, the tables have turned. The Horned Frogs headed into the Thursday game with a prediction of losing by a 3-point deficit. But it turned out they lagged with 7 points when the Raiders defeated them 35-28.
TCU suffered a 20-7 deficit in the first half before taking a lead in the third quarter with 21-20. But with six seconds left, the Raiders went to a lead of 28-21 that escalated to 35-21 with a touchdown from Drae McCray. TCU tried their best, but they lost to Texas 35-28.

The possum surely has made the last game between the TCU and Raiders a tab more memorable. As the two teams sit on a risky 4-5 record, their future will soon be set when they head further into the season.
