The son of Deion Sanders has had a tumultuous few months this year, with all the social media controversies or whatnot. But at the end of the day, he’s one of the most talented players on the team and he holds a lot of responsibility as well. Now that the next season draws to a close, it looks like Shedeur is bringing his A-game to the gridiron.

Shedeur Sanders, the quarterback for the Colorado Buffaloes, was one of the top-10 QBs in the 2023 class. Even though he couldn’t lead his team to a lot of success, his individual performance was definitely seen throughout the college world. Shedeur became the nation’s most sacked player in 2023 by being tackled 52 times, indicating that a strong change in his physical capabilities was needed. As per Uncle Neely, he’s doing just that.

On the 4th June episode of ‘Thee Pregame Show’, Uncle Neely and Carl Reed from 247 Sports dissected the areas where Shedeur Sanders could rightly improve for this season. In a later segment, Neely started to talk about the different approaches that Shedeur has inculcated in his preparation for the 2024 season and he pointed out 4 major changes.

As per Uncle Neely, Shedeur suffered a lot of physical strain when he would get tackled on the daily, and in a means to ensure he doesn’t go down as easily, he has- “improved his core strength, improved his lower body strength, his arm strength.” Moreover, the one other difference in Shedeur from last year, that Neely loves the most, is that he’s changed his approach and along with that, cut his hair off.

Neely concluded by saying, “He changed his hairstyle back to the, what I call the Jackson State Championship haircuts and he said because this year is about business, he’s taking the taking the braids down, taking the twist down, he’s back to that Shedeur.” Thus, the new Sheduer Sanders is going to show a different side to himself, one that is enough for him to win the Heisman Trophy this year, since he was so close to hoisting it last year.

Last year, Shedeur ranked 10th overall in the Heisman race, before eventually losing it out to LSU’s Jayden Daniels. For the first 3 wins against TCU, Nebraska, and Colorado State, Shedeur’s Heisman odds were ranked at the top, but after that, the QB lost all hopes since the team couldn’t rake in a win.

Shedeur is not touted to be the frontrunner in the race since the likes of Travis Hunter, Quinn Ewers, and Carson Beck are already leading him in recent projections. But after raking in 3,230 yards and 27 touchdowns to his name in 2023, there are still a lot of hopes next to his name. As per Sports Handle, Shedeur’s Heisman Trophy odds currently stand at +4000, a bit better than Hunter’s +6500. But with the onset of the upcoming season, the tide could very well go in favor of Shedeur, since that’s the way the football turns.
