At the end of the match, when all the players were exchanging compliments, Booker hugged McCarthy and gave him a lot of endearing words. Tyler Booker, the offensive lineman for Alabama, played with McCarthy during their days together at the IMG Academy for football in Miami. Thus, when he spoke well for McCarthy, the fans didn’t have a hard time believing him and his love for the quarterback.

Booker hugged McCarthy and said to him, “I love you baby. I’m so happy for you. Go finish the job. I love you bro.” The Alabama team’s championship run came to an end, and while they had a phenomenal season, they had to bow out to the might of the Wolverines. But despite it being a match of the ages, this heartfelt interaction between McCarthy and Booker managed to transcend sports rivalries and see two friends wishing the best for each other. But with all that said, here’s a look at what Tom Brady had to say when Jim Harbaugh claimed that McCarthy would be the next big player in the world of football.

Tom Brady responds to Jim Harbaugh’s claims that McCarthy is the next GOAT.

After the match ended, Jim Harbaugh took to the post-match conference to talk about the invaluable JJ McCarthy and said that he’s the best quarterback in college football history. Additionally, he compared him to Brady and said that McCarthy still has a long way to go but will eventually end up being the next big player after the 7-time Super Bowl winner. He said, “Got a long way to go to get to where Tom Brady eventually got to, which is the GOAT. He’s lapped the field when it comes to that. But in a college career, there’s been nobody at Michigan better than J.J.”
