Did Texas not do something that the team might regret for a while? Washington defeated the team with 7 points, a score that Longhorns could have easily taken over, if the situations had been a little different. The teams’ scores were tied when they started the third quarter, all thanks to the Huskies QB Michael Penix Jr. who has been thrashing the Texas team since the very beginning, gaining one TD after the other.

With the Sugar Bowl being the ultimate competition for the National Championship, will Texas about Longhorns bring out their hidden gem: Arch Manning?

Although Arch Manning has only made appearances in a couple of games, the guy has a huge fan base. Not to mention the Manning genes, which per some fans might be perfect for the QB, commenting, “It might be impossible for that family to have a bad QB.” Steve Sarkisian’s decision to stick with Quinn Ewers might have just cost the Longhorns their shot at National Championship.  Sarkisian decided to play safely with Ewers, which resulted into the Washington coming in heavy in the third quarter. Ewers and Co. fought back vigorously in the fourth quarter, with a 1 yard Adonai Mitchell TD pass to Quinn Ewers and the 25-yard field goal of Bret Auburn.

As a freshman, Mannin had just one chance of appearing in the season as a QB against the Texas Tech Raiders. Longhorns won that game with a huge gap of 57-7. Moreover, Manning had 2 out of the 5 attempts. Not to mention the 30 yards he scores, all in his first game. Even though Manning did not have a chance to shine on the field, he sure did off-field through his massive NIL deals.

Being a freshman, Manning has NIL deals worth the amount most senior year student-athletes wish to have. Being on the top 5 in the NIL valuation chart per ON3, Manning ranks fourth in the NCAA for possessing the highest NIL valuation with $2.8 million. Shedeur Sanders ranks before him.

Manning signed a multi-year partnership deal with Panini America, the nation’s top store for sports trading cards. Although, currently all his NIL money goes in a charity as he is not permitted to possess it. Had Manning being given the chance to play over Ewers, would Longhorns be able to secure a spot in the National Championship? The hypothetical situation remains a possibility that would ever loom in each Texas fans’ head.
