Speculations of Jim Harbaugh to Chargers Quashed Despite Michigan’s HC Hiring Tom Brady’s Agent to Deepen NFL Ties

NFL or NCAA: What is it going to be for Jim Harbaugh? Looking at the latest updates per sources, the Michigan head coach has seemingly concluded the much-anticipated decision. The saga started earlier this month when the rumors of Harbaugh bidding his farewell to Michigan intensified. Astonishingly, Michigan offered their head coach a tempting contract extension, placing him among some of the top-paid head coaches in the league.

Albeit, the $55 million per annum contract came with some binding terms. Harbaugh did not sign the offer right away, rather the forthcoming days just resulted in more anticipation. Now, after a buildup of headlines over the past couple of weeks, reports suggest that Harbaugh is heading in a particular direction, hinting toward his ultimate choice.

A probable conclusion for Jim Harbaugh

When NFL Insider, and fellow Wolverine alumni, Adan Schefter, broke the news about Harbaugh hiring football agent Don Yee, it resulted in some strong speculations. Football enthusiasts believed Don Yee was to represent Jim Harbaugh and added how the former has deep NFL ties.

Interestingly though, Trevor McCue, a senior editor at the Maize and Blue Review had a different view to present. “This is not new. Yee was hired awhile ago and has been working on the extension with Michigan,” he explained.

This explanation from McCue was most probably enough to extinguish the fire of speculations of a possible shift to the Chargers from the coach’s end. However, other factors that hint toward Harbaugh inclination toward NFL still remain. First, his reluctance for the Michigan extension contract.

Also, Harbaugh seeing the Broncos earlier this season, along with the Vikings in 2022 for the head coaching role, just continue to add fuel to the fire. Amidst all this NFL Insider Adam Schefter’s comment, “Amongst others, Yee represents Tom Brady and Sean Payton and has deep NFL ties,” adds the final nail. Nonetheless, the question of what will his future with Michigan hold still remains.

McCue’s announcement gave a novel direction to Harbaugh’s NFL switch. Now, with Harbaugh’s future with Michigan appearing not-so-blurry, fans can focus on what will happen out of the sign-stealing farce that tainted Harbaugh’s reputation, not to mention the twice suspension, and his alleged sour relations with the Big Ten committee members.
