For days, Shedeur Sanders has been overshadowed by his teammate Travis Hunter. Whether it’s a fun team activity or a tough Navy SEAL workout, Hunter always wins everyone’s hearts and challenges. Meanwhile, Shedeur is known for being playful, and sometimes even feels “tired” from the rigorous training.

However, a recent shift has emerged. This time, Shedeur Sanders stepped up as a leader for the Colorado Buffaloes, taking charge during a special weekend workout with the wide receivers. In the intense training session, the quarterback mentored his receivers on their arm swings, eye positions, running routes and gave them some guidance.

The “Reach The People Media” video captured the high-intensity session on June 1st, showcasing a reinvigorated Shedeur. Shouting words of encouragement, Sanders told his wide receivers, “Alright that’s good work… When we say let’s throw 10, let’s be here at 10 bro. Let’s get in get it over with Saturday.” Thus, by setting the tone for practice, the quarterback further stressed a clear focus, reminding his teammates, “We got seven months bro to get all over with. So lock in let’s lock in these last seven.”

It looks like, instead of early season games, Shedeur Sanders has his eyes on a bigger prize — a national championship finals coming in 7 months. Just like his dad, Coach Prime, Shedeur is building team spirit and a vision for winning during special training sessions with coveted players like Jimmy Horn Jr. and LaJohntay Wester.

By taking charge, he’s not only motivating his teammates but also helping out his dad by stepping up as a leader. However, it’s not just Shedeur, Deion’s inner circle member is also guiding the team and helping to build a “championship roster” along with the quarterback.

Colorado AD joins Shedeur Sanders in setting championship goal

Recently, just like Shedeur, Colorado’s Athletic Director Rick George also rallied the team with a powerful motivation. “A goal is a dream with a date attached to it,” Rick said, setting December 7th, 2024, the Big 12 Championship date, as their target. A win in December’s championship game would be a huge leap for the Buffaloes, considering their disappointing 4-8 record last season.

This championship dream is fueling the entire team, with everyone from coaches to players stepping up.  All these motivational messages and intense training sessions have the Buffs laser-focused on December and January.  Can they translate their words into action and make a championship run? It remains to be seen, but one thing’s for sure – the Buffs are hungry for some success.
