The Sanders’ men were in splits upon hearing their father go on a nostalgic trip. The 56-year-old Deion Sanders is undoubtedly one of the most influential coaches in the NCAA and has earned his respect both inside and outside the gridiron of the NFL. But when it comes to his sons, it’s apparent that it’s a typical father-son dynamic as they couldn’t stop giggling as he retold a story from the past with sheer passion.

While he’s currently the head coach for the Buffaloes, he has had a phenomenal career as a cornerback and a wide receiver for several teams in his 14-year NFL career. Now that he’s achieved the status of one of the best athletes in the history of American sports, Nike has offered to support him by specifically designing a Deion Sanders version of the Air DT Max ’96. In the newest interview with Jeremiah Fennell, Deion sat down with his two sons, Shedeur and Shilo, to talk about the newest shoes that Nike has collaborated on with him. The conversation soon led to what inspired the design of the shoes and Deion brought up his favorite Lamborghini as a source. Furthermore, he talked about the connection between the  Lamborghini Diablo and the height of the shoes, which ultimately caused Shedeur and Shilo to laugh out loud as they peered at the shoes.

Jeremiah asked Deion whether he remembered the first time he wore the Air DT Max ’96. To which Deion replied, ” I really don’t remember the first time but I remember the thought process. It was like me running down the field and my feet are on fire. That’s where the flames came from. The height of the shoe comes from, my favorite car was a Lamborghini, Lamborghini Diablo. Always wanted a Lamborghini Diablo and growing up, the car seemed like, it sat high in the back and it was slanted down to the front and it had like this tail on the back and that represented the tail.”

As soon as Deion talked about the height of the shoes being inspired by the Lamborghini Diablo, Shedeur took a look at the shoes, which made Shilo instantly laugh. Though the sons couldn’t buy him the $297,000 worth of Lamborghini, they sure didn’t hold back on the money when they bought Deion a $3 million mansion in Colorado.
