Sherrone Moore is on a mission to continue the legacy of Jim Harbaugh in Michigan. He seems to be taking some pointers from Harbaugh himself, recently making a bold offseason move. “We’re gonna be extremely aggressive with it,” Moore declared, hinting at his plans for the upcoming season with the Wolverines. What exactly “aggressive” meant remained a mystery – would it involve a complete roster overhaul with star recruits or maybe attracting lucrative NIL deals for the team?
Now, the clouds are parting. Moore’s first aggressive step appears to be revamping the coaching staff. In a surprising move, he recently added a whopping six new recruiting analysts to the team early in his tenure, paving the way for hope.

Recently, Reid Kuhl shared the news on his X handle: “Excited to announce that after graduation I have accepted a role with Michigan FB as a Recruiting Analyst!” Kuhl isn’t new to the Wolverines’ program, having interned with them for several seasons. He’ll be joined by fellow Michigan intern Richard Perry, who stated he was “Beyond blessed” to land the official role.

Soon, Jacob Weber, a former recruiting assistant at Western Michigan, announced that he “Can’t wait to get to work!” with Coach Moore’s team as he too confirmed his presence with the interns. This recruiting analyst group also includes Preston Saagan, who previously interned as a recruiting analyst at Clemson, and Aidan Young, who comes with similar experience from Oregon. Finally, rounding out the crew is Jack Turner, who spent over a year as a recruiting intern at Wake Forest.
While the exact roles for these “intern turned Wolverines” haven’t been revealed, their primary focus will likely be on evaluating and identifying talented high school football players. Their combined expertise will be crucial in building a strong culture at Michigan. And it seems like this is just one of the steps in Coach Moore’s staff revamping efforts.

Before making changes to his coaching staff, Wolverines’ head coach Sherrone Moore made a major change in the head of the recruiting department. The team recently promoted Sam Popper to Director of Recruiting, who previously served as Assistant Director. But Moore wasn’t done there. To further bolster the recruiting team, he appointed Jack Dunaway and John Collins as the new Assistant Directors, filling Popper’s void.
This focus on the recruiting staff suggests a bigger vision for Moore. It shows the head coach isn’t just focused on this season – he’s making significant changes to Michigan’s recruiting team for the future. Moore has been vocal about his recruiting goals, stating his desire to “bring in the right type of guys” to the Wolverines. The revamped recruiting team is a key part of achieving that vision.
