As the 2024 college football season approaches, attention is fixed on the Michigan Wolverines and their new head coach, Shеrronе Moorе. Making history as the first black head coach in Michigan’s history, Moorе stеps into the limelight following a triumphant national championship under Jim Harbaugh. Yet, the environment is tinged with uncertainty as Moor grapples with a flurry of changes in his coaching staff.

The departure of key defensive figures like Jеssе Mintеr, Ben Hеrbеrt, Stеvе Clinkscalе, and Mikе Elston has left gaps in the team’s leadership. However, despite Moorе’s commendable recruiting efforts, the coaching ethos continues, with the last blow being the exit of their seasoned running back coaches.

Reports are indicating that the team’s running back coach and run game coordinator, Mike Hart, will not be returning to the sidelines for the 2024 season. The Detroit News first reported the news on Friday afternoon. Hart returned to his alma mater in 2021 under former head coach Jim Harbaugh, but his contract with the school expired in January. Despite efforts to negotiate a new deal, Hart has not signed an extension, leaving a void in the Wolverines’ coaching staff just ahead of spring practices, which are set to begin next Monday.

During his tenure at Michigan, Hart played a pivotal role in developing the team’s rushing attack and mentoring standout running backs like Hassan Haskins and Blake Corum. However, Hart’s departure adds to the challenges facing Moore as he seeks to solidify his coaching staff for the upcoming season.

While the status of Moore’s coaching staff remains uncertain, the Wolverines are also grappling with significant changes to their roster.
