Being the son of Deion Sanders and one of the potential top drafts for the NFL has to be rough. You can find Shedeur Sanders knee-deep in some problem almost every week at this point. From getting randomly bashed on X and being called “overrated” just because your father decided to defend your rating in a video game to being hounded by Mock Draft lists and being placed in the 8th spot even though you are doing your best. Well, today, Shedeur finds himself amidst something rather funny.

On July 12th, NFL Rookie Watch posted that Shedeur Sanders revealed his top six preferred NFL teams, listing the Atlanta Falcons, Dallas Cowboys, Washington Commanders, San Francisco 49ers, Baltimore Ravens, and Philadelphia Eagles as his desired destinations. But there’s a twist in there. Guess what? Shedeur claims he never even said this. “When did I say this?” the Buffs QB commented while reposting the original claim by NFL Rookie Watch. Now this has to be embarrassing.

While it is not confirmed which team Shedeur would like to go to, it is kind of out there that the LA Raiders could be a potential home for him. Especially after the recent defense that Deion Sanders put up for the harsh criticism of Antonio Pierce, HC for the Raiders. During the second day of Big 12 Media Days on 11th July, Deion claimed, “It’s not a mistake that he’s a leader, motivator, knows X’s and O’s, just a good dude. It’s not a mistake that my kids would love to play.” This could potentially mean that we can see Shedeur going on the field with the Raiders jersey on and AP’s guidance following.

While the Las Vegas Raiders seem like a fitting destination for Shedeur Sanders due to the strong connections between his father, Deion Sanders, and Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce, other teams could also be ideal landing spots for the talented QB. Seahawks can be a good home for Shedeur, especially when he has already been compared to QB Geno Smith. NFL Draft Analyst and Scout, Daniel Jeremiah, said, “Geno Smith coming out of West Virginia. Like Smith during his time with the Mountaineers, Sanders plays in a wide-open college offense that showcases his polish as a passer.” The playstyle for both Smith and Sanders is similar with amazing throwing motions and a firm ball delivery.

Another solid option could be the Browns. With Fox Sports rating the defense line for the Browns at No. 1 in the 2023 season, this team can bring out the best from Shedeur. Knowing that he struggles in the pocket, the team at Cleveland can pave a way out for him. Regardless, till the actual draft list shows up, no one knows for sure where Shedeur will end up.
