Shedeur Sanders and his Colorado Buffs are facing a crisis ahead of their ‘Spring Game’. Ten of their star players have recently entered the transfer portal, abandoning Coach Prime’s vision for reasons still unknown. Five of these players left within hours of each other with, Chazz Wallace, Jaden Milliner-Jones, Deeve Harris, and OTs Savion Washington and Isaiah Jatta leaving the team in a tailspin.
The latest blow is star cornerback Cormani McClain who also joined them. Now, the team’s quarterback Shedeur Sanders has posted a cryptic message that seems like a jab at the departing players.

Soon after Cormani McClain’s exit, Shedeur Sanders shared this on his Instagram story: “God reduced your circle because he heard conversations that you didn’t.” Off late, McClain has been subtly pushing a negative image of the Buffs, sharing news of departing players and skipping practices. Thus it looked like Shedeur’s message was a direct response to the cornerback’s actions.

However, it’s not just McClain on the list as the quarterback also lost five other Buffs players in quick succession. Soon after the incident, Shedeur posted a playful message that “Portal opens soon, so let’s get busy.” It seemed like he was brushing off the losses and focusing on recruiting. However, now his cryptic Instagram story shows he is deeply affected by his teammate’s actions.
The Sanders and Co. handling the transfer portal drama
Shedeur Sanders has put in the work for the Buffs alongside his dad, Coach Prime. He’s a team player, even taking on recruiting efforts at times. His bond with teammates grew as he amassed impressive stats with a 69% completion rate. With 27 touchdowns and just three interceptions, he could have easily entered the NFL Draft this year. But Shedeur chose to stay and support his team. This makes Shedeur and Travis Hunter the only star players to remain with the Buffs in 2024.

While Sanders and Co. don’t demand blind loyalty, they’re frustrated by players complaining and badmouthing the team on their way out. Recently former linebacker Eoghan Kerry criticized Coach Prime, saying he was cut from the team because Deion wanted a “physically stronger” player.
This made Deion pour his frustration saying, “Why were they complaining on the way out?” It looks like both father and son have heard enough negativity, and they’re ready to call it out.
