Oh, no! Not again! Shedeur Sanders and controversy go hand in hand. While the Gavin Kuld dispute was on the verge of fading from the collective memory of college football fans, the Buffs quarterback found himself in another controversy. Shedeur made a cryptic post a day after he entered the online feud involving Lane Kiffin’s dark horse, Jaxson Dart. Will this be a repetition of what transpired between Shedeur and Xavier Smith? Meanwhile, the Buffs QB’s attempt to mock the Ole Miss Rebels’ QB takes place after rumors looming about Dart emerging as the Heisman favorite over Shedeur.

This year has been filled with high drama for Shedeur. Starting from the transfer portal, the ex-Buffs backup QB Kuld charged Deion’s son for having no talent while processing only with his highest NIL valuation. This time, it’s about Dart. But Shedeur’s post on July 2, where he wrote, “Keep steady mind through it all,” shows the QB’s intention of minding his business. But what is this fuss all about?

It started with Oklahoma DB Billy Bowman’s tweet on June 30. The player shared a clip from Dart’s practice at the Manning Academy and captioned it, “Pick Six.” The Ole Miss QB came up with a challenging reply, “Yeah okay buddy, we gon see.” The Buffs had nothing to do with this banter until a Colorado fan said, “This is a leader; he shouldn’t be on the internet responding to people. He should be the bigger person”. Shedeur took it up as he shared the fan’s tweet with a laughing emoji. That’s all!

Besides Kuld, there had been one more time when the Buffs QB landed an attack on ex-Buffs Smith and questioned his talents, “Ion even remember him tbh. Bro had to be very mid at best.” His attacks on the ex-Buffs are clear. But what made Shedeur smackdown Dart? It’s likely to be a repercussion of the Heisman rumors doing rounds.

Shedeur and Dart face off in the ultimate Heisman battle

Even though Deion Sanders and the Buffs hail Shedeur as the best quarterback, ESPN dropped off an explosive revelation by releasing its quarterback rankings. The Colorado QB in that list landed at No. 8 behind Dart. The same goes for the list that college football analyst Phil Steele created, where he landed the Rebels’ QB in No. 2 and Shedeur in No. 3.

Dart blossomed in his second year under the tutelage of HC Kiffin. Going by the records, the Rebels’ dark horse has thrown three more touchdowns and 390 more yards than his first season in Oxford. In contrast, Shedeur ended as the most sacked player last season. The nepotism allegations just fueled the controversy surrounding the Buffs QB’s talents. Taking all these pointers into consideration, Dart has seized the gaze of being the new Heisman favorite.

Playing a crucial role in propelling Ole Miss to secure an 11-win season, he stands at an edge over Shedeur. But here is a catch. Dart has to cross the threshold of the average 367.3 combined passing and rushing yards per game as amassed by the Heisman-winning QBs. It’s still up in the air. Who snags the ultimate snicker, Shedeur or Jaxson?
