The crème de la crème of CU: Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter, and Shilo Sanders would be among the ones bidding their adieu to the CU football team to step into the NFL realm. It will be THE defining moment in the Buffs’ history, as Deion Sanders and Co. can either secure a QB as good as, or even better than, Shedeur Sanders, skyrocketing their already massive fan-following. Or else they can get a not-so-good QB who might turn out to be a major roadblock in their trajectory.

To avoid the latter situation happening, Deion Sanders and Co. are already preparing to make the perfect recruitment. The hunt has started and the potential replacements of Shedeur Sanders are lining up at CU. Several stars and underdogs of the 2025 class are securing interviews with the Buffs team. The competition, for now, is cutthroat between Bryce Underwood and Julian Lewis. However, in the battle, Julian Lewis might have scored the ultimate upper hand on Underwood thanks to a major approval from Shedeur Sanders himself!

“Legendary,” Shedeur Sanders commented on the post stating the Buffs secured a last visit from the 5-star QB of the class of 2025. Another thing adding a score to Lewis’s account is the visit to Colorado is his 3rd visit with the university, highlighting his interest in joining the program.

However, it’s not Lewis who is the more uncertain one here, as the 5-star prospect already has several universities chasing his tail, including top seeds like Alabama, Indiana, and Auburn. Even though the No. 3 player out of Georgia has not limited his options, his agreeing to a third visit to CU indicates his preference perfectly. His words point in the same direction as well.

Julian Lewis on Colorado

Fans’ anticipation of the 6’1 MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year joining Buffs only heightened when ‘Ju Ju’ Lewis gave his verdict on Colorado from his second visit. “Colorado has a lot of energy,” Lewis confessed. Further adding his experience with Deion Sanders and Co, the Carrollton HS star said, “Coach Prime is super positive and motivating. Talking to Coach Shurmur and Shedeur, they want me to make the best decision for me, but made it clear that I have the opportunity to play early.”

‘Ju Ju’ visited the Buffs ground last time when the spring break kicked off on March 18. His father also accompanied him during their strategic dinner with Deion Sanders on his first visit. Giving the fans another token surety of CU and the staff of Deion Sanders a token of appreciation, Lewis took to his X to share a moment from the Buffs training grounds where his father and Coach Prime seem to be in a deep conversation. “Thanks for always caring about what’s best for me,” captioned Lewis as the perfect icing on the cake. With all the signs, it seems that Julian Lewis is currently the top competitor in the race of being the Buffs QB in 2025.
