Sheduer Sanders redefined CU Buffs’ history with his QB plays and his branding this season. While his records didn’t create much of an impression, his gridiron dexterity, paired with the flawless marketing his father executed, worked wonders for the audience. While it did reap heavy criticism from the fans hurling ‘nepotism’ allegations at them, Justin Mayers’ opinion is the ultimate slap to all the detractors’ faces.
Per Mayers, Shedeur has “That it factor.” Presenting his take on the QB’s finesse, Mayers said on the DNVR CU Buffs podcast, “You know Tom Brady has one, Peyton Manning, Jalen Hurts, Pat Mahomes, every quarterback has.” However, he believes that there is a particularly individualistic characteristic in each of these QBs, setting them apart from the other. For Shedeur, it is his ability to support someone, per Mayers. “Just a guy that you can depend on, trust in, you know, laugh joke all night to like 3:00 a.m. with. That’s the guy that you want” expressed him.

Even though Shedeur Sanders is quite far from achieving numbers like Brady and Mahomes. However, his persistent attitude, evident from his not missing any game despite several injuries throughout the season, except the final at Utah because of a back fracture, is enough to amass the numbers. The real deal for Shedeur would commence once he enters the NFL after the upcoming season. But he would still have to spend his last year of eligibility with CU wisely, trying to dodge the mistakes that set him and his team back last season to bring a boastable collegiate record to the table for him to be a first-round pick.
Along with this, the severe criticism surrounding Shedeur Sanders could also potentially harm his NIL value, something that he ranks 1st in college football. Even Mayers’ is against the criticism Shedeur Sanders is receiving.

Justin Mayers on Shedeur Sanders’ criticism
The O-line star was quite disheartened after hearing the negative comments about Shedeur Sanders. “I didn’t see this Shedeur that people talk bad about,” said Mayers. He was quick to jump to his defense, saying, “Off the field just a great guy.”

Shedeur is not new to making amicable relations with his teammates, his friendship with OT Jordan Seaton recruited this season is a prime example. The two often post about each other on their social media. Hence, his friendly relations with his teammates are enough to scrape the ‘nepotism’ allegations.
