Shedeur Sanders and his new partner—are they the next unstoppable duo in college football?

“They’re irrelevant”? Hell nah, Deion Sanders has brought in yet another mean machine to make the Buffs’ offensive line even stronger. The 2023 season brought out the biggest weakness in the team and that was the overreliance on Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter to carry the game. Shedeur had a hard time getting out of those pockets, and Travis was too exhausted to do anything. So 2024 would be the final year that Deion gets to prove that he’s not all talk.

And boy, he’s gonna get it done. On 30th July we find major hype surrounding Will Sheppard, the new commit for the Buffs. ToxicBuffsFan took to X to share, “Will Sheppard comin for everything this season.” Will had the perfect one-word answer to it all: “Work.” Coming from Vanderbilt, the kid has already got 2000 receiving yards under his belt along with 21 touchdowns. To no one’s surprise, he is already showing major promise. During the preseason practice, Will dropped in an amazing touchdown catch. He created enough distance from Braden Keith and Shedeur and managed to drop the pass in.

What’s gonna get fans even more hyped up is why Will even decided to join the Buffs in the first place. “Obviously getting to play with Shedeur,” he had mentioned. He is supposed to grab the X-receiver spot on the team, serving as Shedeur’s primary target during the match. This would make things much easier for Sanders because Will previously had clocked in a top speed of 20.9 MPH. Shedeur would get a chance to perfectly blend in his accuracy to match Will’s pace and secure some solid wins for the Buffs. Just 30 days left before the team faces off against North Dakota. The boys gotta get their pro hats on cause this season means a lot.

The 2024 season would act as the major turning point for Shedeur and which team he gets into in the 2025 NFL drafts. While there are major speculations that Shedeur would go for the Raiders as the first pick. Nothing is sure. We all know that Deion Sanders and Antonio Piecer (HC for the Raiders) share a good connection. Especially because back during the Media Days, Deion was found singing praises for Pierce.

However, there are a few other teams on the list as well. As per the mock draft list by Pro Football Network, Shedeur would make the perfect fit for the Giants. NFL analyst James Fragoza explained that “Sanders is one of the best QB prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft.” This links up perfectly with what Daniel Jeremiah had mentioned in his scouting report. “He has excellent balance and weight transfer upon release, possessing plenty of arm strength to drive the ball downfield,” Jeremiah had said. These will act as the core skills that will carry the young QB forward. Now with Sheppard on the team, this season is looking spicy.
