Shedeur Sanders, who is used to riding on a high horse, experienced a wounded reputation today as the QB gets called out for an overall mediocre performance so far. The bare reputation of Shedeur Sanders echoes the feeling of the best in the league and a confidence to match and yet today, the bubble is being popped by the Coach JB show, all because of the frictional interaction between him and Cam Ward recently.
Cam Ward, the QB for the Miami Hurricanes, met up with Shedeur Sanders to practice together in Miami but things didn’t go too well between the pair. While they have been friends in the past, tensions sure escalated between them when Ward accused Shedeur of not being good enough, which has now become a spectacle in the world of college football. Even Deion’s biggest hater, coach JB chimed in with his opinion on the matter and unfortunately, it supported neither Cam nor Shedeur

On the 8th July episode of the Coach JB Show with Big Smitty, the coach wasn’t holding back when it came to his opinion about the current state of the quarterbacks in this class of 2024. While dissecting the heated incident between Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders, Coach JB let loose his backlash on Shedeur Sanders’ talents and proceeded to call him mid.

He was heard frustratingly saying, “It’s one thing Smitty, to do all this talking and go out there and be f****** mid as s***, which I call the QB marketplace right now. I call it mid as f***. I think these are the worst quarterbacks to ever play and has ever been.” These thorny words weren’t just limited to Shedeur and Cam, but the entire credibility of the quarterbacks this year, and hopefully with the coming season, the players can rise above his critique of their talents. Furthermore, while the host didn’t think neither QB was up to the mark, the HC for the Miami Hurricanes sure had a different song to sing for Cam Ward.

If we were to look at the last time both Shedeur and Cam faced off against each other, the Miami QB ended up besting Colorado by a landslide. The two met each other on the infield during the game between Washington State and Colorado, in which the former ended up winning by an extensive margin of 56-14. Despite not being touted to be a number 1 draft pick, Ward is surely a talented player and as per the words of his head coach, certainly one of the most explosive in the team.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Shedeur Sanders really 'mid,' or is this just a rough patch for the young QB?

Mario Cristobal talked about Ward being the new starter of the team and complimented him thoroughly. He said, “He’s helped us evolve. You’re not limited with him. He can do a lot of things. He’s got a tremendous capacity, a super high football IQ and his ability to improvise is sometimes better than the designed play.” Thus, these are praises that we don’t normally hear for Shedeur but if there’s anything the fans can hope from him, he might be packing a stronger punch this season compared to last year’s blowout.
