Can Shedeur Sanders live up to the hype and turn the Giants' fortunes around?

Love him or hate him. You still gotta admit that Shedeur Sanders is still in the race for the No.1 QB in college football. With solid arm strength, accuracy, and toughness on the field, which shines when he is on the front and clashing with others, Shedeur has already made a name for himself. While 2023 season was just not it for the young QB, because of his weak defenses. Right now, with a completely revamped team to protect him in the pocket, Shedeur is ready to shine in 2024.

And with this comes the predictions, the analysis, and the rumors. This time, Pro Football Network brings us another list of NFL mock drafts, putting Shedeur Sanders with the Giants. On July 27th, Pro Football Network released the new list on X with the caption: “The #Giants secure their QB of the future in Shedeur Sanders in this 2025 mock draft 👀.” What’s wild about this entire prediction is that it comes just a week after Ian Cummings’s list for Pro Football Network. Cummings predicted that Shedeur will be picked by the Jets. However, in the new list, James Fragoza goes on to explain why Shedeur would make the perfect fit for the Giants.

“There is no doubt that Sanders is one of the best QB prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft,” Fragoza states. This is from the fact that Shedeur Sanders has amazing accuracy and ball-handling skills. Even Daniel Jeremiah agreed on this in his scouting report. “He has excellent balance and weight transfer upon release, possessing plenty of arm strength to drive the ball downfield,” Jeremiah mentioned. He even went on to compare Shedeur with Geno Smith. “Like Smith during his time with the Mountaineers, Sanders plays in a wide-open college offense that showcases his polish as a passer,” Daniel said. However, there still is one team that is most likely to grab Shedeur Sanders.

The Raiders

Back in May, ESPN Jordan Reid put out his mock draft list. Reid went on to put Shedeur in the Raiders. “Sanders is a smooth operator whose game centers around his great ball placement,” Reid mentioned. This aligns with what Daniel Jeremiah had said about Shedeur Sanders and his overall abilities in the field. Jeremiah had specifically pointed out that Shedeur is a “pure thrower with a compact, smooth stroke.”

However, what makes the Raiders pick more of a possibility is the fact that Deion Sanders has been seen praising Antonio Pierce (HC for Raiders). Back during the Big 12 Media Days, Deion was quite on board with the idea of his sons, Shilo and Shedeur Sanders, playing for AP. “My kids would love to play for him,” Coach Prime had claimed. Now, only time will tell where the 2025 draft takes Shedeur, but what we do know is that wherever he goes, he’s gonna do his best.
