Is Deion Sanders a true game-changer or just another flashy 'snake-oil salesman' in college football?

Deion Sanders is a “fake” coach who just puts on a show. Well, that’s what Denver Post columnist Sean Keeler seems to believe. After the Buffaloes finished the last season with a mediocre 4-8 record, Keeler showed no mercy in trolling Sanders.

This tension peaked on August 9, during the Sanders’ birthday press conference, where the Buffs head coach gave Keeler the cold shoulder. The drama between them has been brewing for a while, with Keeler’s harsh words seemingly justifying Sanders’ frosty response.

On August 11, CU Buffs content creator David Talks Sports didn’t hold back, taking to X to call out Keeler, saying, “He’s a joke of a journalist.” David defended Sanders, stating, “Calling someone a ‘snake oil salesman’ after leading CU to a 3-win improvement is ridiculous. Sean Keeler is not credible and carries himself like a total a**hat. But the media will defend each other like a fraternity, even the bad apples🤡🤡🤡.

Keeler has been the leading critic of Coach Prime, even bluntly starting one of his February articles with, “Deion Sanders is a false prophet.” He hasn’t held back, throwing multiple jabs and even calling Sanders the “Bruce Lee of B.S.” In the same article, he compared the Buffs HC to “Harold Hill in designer shades.” Yeah! This refers to the con artist character from The Music Man, who swindles money for band uniforms and instruments.

But he didn’t stop there! Keeler even speculated that Sanders could run for governor with his gimmicky PR tricks like “Rallies for breakfast. Adoring fans for miles.” After months of relentless criticism, it’s no surprise that Coach Prime gave Keeler the cold treatment in return.

Deion Sanders vs. the media

Have an interesting take?

Deion Sanders had a birthday blowout that nobody will forget. The Colorado Buffaloes head coach was not in a festive mood regarding the media. Especially Sean Keeler!

Keeler started asking a question, and boom, Deion fired back, “You don’t like us, man…like you know you don’t. Like why do you do this?” Ouch. Keeler tried to laugh it off, saying it’s all about football, but Prime wasn’t buying it. He bluntly said it’s “hard for me to really engage in someone I don’t like.” But it wasn’t just Keeler who got the Coach Prime treatment. A CBS reporter also got a piece of his mind. But Deion quickly said it wasn’t personal against the reporter, just the whole organization.

Now, this drama continued the next day too! Keeler wrote a piece calling Coach Prime a “cornered and condescending man the perennial victim who ain’t got time for mere mortals.” Looks like this feud is just getting started. We’re in for a wild ride as these two keep going back and forth. We can’t wait to see what Coach Prime has for Keeler next!
